I’m playing it right now. It’s a bit like Breath of the Wild. Puzzles unlock parts of the map, just like in Zelda games. Sonic is faster, obviously, which is more fun.
Reminds tok much of breath of the wild when playing it wasn't into that game still think sonic adventure 1 and 2 still much more fun for me to play

Like BoTW it all looks deceptively empty.
Watching gameplay and livestreams.. I know this game isn’t for me.. I know I’m not gonna invest anytime into this game.
I totally agree they shouldve focus more on the open world aspect but i wouldve been ok with stages like in adventures where it was more open. Still im about to start the 3rd island and im having a blast. I do hope they continue in this direction. Also side note i wish there was an island with buildings and cars, like a station square. GTA Sonic lol
I absolutely loved my time with this game island 2 could have been way shorter, also there seems to be to many collectibles specifically the memory tokens where progression is a little too easy but overall I loved it, it’s only really hampered by smaller problems.

No it's not the best "bad" Sonic game, it's just a good game, not just in regards to Sonic but also in general. I haven't watched the review, so if you just say it's good, my comment still stands. Titles like that are what perpetuate the idea that Sonic is never good and allow it to thrive to this day.
