the problem im having with this video is mainly that this guy is just… wrong alot of the time.
why use serfent over other mounts? because its an early mount?
sure nitewing can fulfill the same role, but nitewings saddle is unlocked at a later level, and more expensive… this is like asking the same question in ark. Why ride a parasaur when you can ride a trike, or a raptor, etc… Because parasaur saddles are unlocked earlier, so its a useful early mount… its not the fastest, its not the most powerful, its not good at resource gathering, but its the best you have in the early game… so you make do.
the idea that every single mount should be balanced around every other mount is just a level of idiocy i shouldnt have to explain. Why make better food? because better food makes pals happier which means their sanity doesnt fall and will slack off less and not get ill making your base more productive.
and as for originality, i think its weird that so many people nowadays are so hell bent on "originality" so many games nowadays arent original, having a truly original concept at this stage in gaming is an absolute rarity, most games nowadays even the great ones are just genre mashups… the problem is whether its done well or poorly, and i absolutely disagree that this is a "cheap ripoff" this is a very high quality rip off.
and thats not really a problem, the same can be said of Lies of P, its ultimately a rip-off of the souls forumula, that does nothing particularly original or novel, with more or less every single mechanic coming from some other game, but it uses the concepts well, and id absolutely argue that palworld does the same thing.
yeah i will definitely admit it was undercooked to begin with, but its only been 8 months and the AI is already leaps and bounds better, and i also dont necessarily agree with the pokemon argument… i think the issue is its genuinely just hard to make a creature based on real creatures mixed with elements and not come out with something resembling a pokemon. I mean seriously. There's over a thousand pokemon… there's only so many concepts you can work with and i absolutely disagree that it just looks like they "took pokemon and put them in a blender" you can probably get that effect with most pals, but again thats more just because when you have 1000 pokemon, that you're able to combine willy nilly, you're going to be able to get some combination to resemble more or less anything in that same genre.
now this isnt an absolute thing, there's definitely some pals that definitely take too much inspiration from some pokemon, but id say that most look truly interesting in their own right… considering you can largely do the same with any pokemon esque game before pokemon, you can take todays pokemon line up and mash them together to get the same concepts very very easily.
the problem is that palworld also completely copies the art style, with the same fluffy plush like visuals which just makes the resemblence easier, and i also think its unfair to say that any of pokemons lineup wipes the floor with all of palworlds… like seriously? have you seen the newer generations? The only people truly ripping pokemon designs up and remashing them are nintendo themselves lmfao… you wanna find real slop THATS where its hiding.
People try to call palworld soulless, but i really just dont understand that. Personally it feels like palworld has more passion put into it than the last 6 mainline pokemon games combined. Is it as polished or refined as earlier pokemon titles? No, but ofcourse it isnt… for one the scope is so much wider and secondly its not done yet.
you can definitely criticise palworld, but the problem i keep running into with so many games lately is coming across people criticising them who largely just feel like the time they spent playing the game shifted after about 6 hours to playing the game to "critiquing" the game, which seems to lead to just missing incredibly simple shit, because you're not really actively playing you're looking for shit to criticise… because a lot of what was said here was just so comically wrong that i cant comprehend it. Literally any google search about the higher quality food would have told you what its benefits are. Hell, hovering over it would have sufficed.

i am happy that palworld finally came to the ps5, i got over 35 hours playing palworld and i play mostly solo and the only problem i am having is when i try to return to title screen it don't send me to title screen and i can't move my dude or do anything and the game is not frozen since my pal are still moving around and notice some pop in texture but other then that i am having a lot of fun playing

its one of those shitty games that feel like they were made by a group of 13 year olds like Ark. HAHA pokemon with slave labor and guns!! FUNNY!! ugly ass artstyle too
Man I just wanna state as a fact, it's early access so calling the game bad on the basis of unfinished content instead of any level of actual critique which isn't very based. Plus tbh ALOT of this isn't really true, the pals have myriads of high quality textures (look closely at jormuntide for a perfect example), special anims for sleeping, eating working and certain attacks, which is to say these were intended to be unique. There are 3 sanctuaries BTW which really makes one question if you actually did experience much of what you talk about, the there's food where again you're dead wrong, it provides higher nutrition yes but the primary function is good food = more san which means more works and less debuffs then there's the Def, dmg, hunger and sanity effects which make hunting certain pals in certain places a mechanic beyond collecting oil and organs from them, I wouldn't describe a world where you explore to find, hunt and catch creatures in their biomes as lifeless because it doesn't have huge towns.

legit played elden ring for the first time this week, hopped off to play palworld also for the first time and about 10 mins in im thinking to myself what in the actual fuck.
It sounds like you didn't enjoy the game and decided to call it a bad game just because you didn't like it. Maybe the reason people play it is because it's a fun and a alright to great game. It has some issues but the issues you run into are minor and few and far in between. As someone who has played a lot of this game. I can say that this was a pretty shit review and that's a good game.
