Some good ideas here.
Another suggestion I have is to complete all the Towers first.
This opens up the whole map to you.
You kind of get used to the different flavours available in each area.
When you go to Karikaro Village, make sure you find and complete the nearby Shrine.
That way you will be able to fast travel to a Goddess Statue whenever you have four Spirit Orbs.
You will also be able to fast travel to a cooking pot, and a place to buy arrows.

This game is incredible and i regret not playing it earlier, so many things to do and I literally lose myself doing other stuff throughout the main quests. Im heading to the zora's divine beast rn without knowing anything about the order and Im glad Im doing the right thing lol. No visiting the divine beast will give you the fast travel spot for it at least get thr shrine to travel to.
Im stuck on the ex master sword challenge and thr other ex challenge arr all such a huge pain man like we paid for it and the rewards are still locked smh
i bought BOTW when i was healing from surgery a few years ago and found the controls were to complex for me at that time and i forgot about BOTW till now. now all the TOTK videos got me excited. but i told myself not until i beat BOTW first.

Personally I think that riding horses kind of ruins parts of the game. It's all about exploration on foot. But if it's an area you already explored then just use a horse.
