3:51 starts the real thing
I had a friend come over to teach my cat to high five, but then my cat suddenly bit my thumb and it bled
At what month can I start clicker training please ? Love Mia ❤
God my cat is so stupid 😂😂😂
Hey Albert, I’m not sure if you’ll reply because it is quite a late comment after the video but my cat and I are trying to learn this trick, she already knows sit because of you but the problem is, she is too obedient! She sits there and waits for me to release her and give her the treat instead of using her paw. Even when she does try and get it, she just uses her mouth. What can I do? Thanks.
Too long the explanations
OMG, Bengals aren't anything like a domestic. They are smarter, stronger, and have deep personality structures that very few domestics can ever match.
Calling a Bengal a Cat is terribly misleading. My Bengal was amazing, he was only 2nd generation though, and boy did we have rough times. It all worked out, but I never once thought I would end up in a full blown fight for my place as boss in my own apartment. If you have ever been attacked by a full sized domestic feline, double that and imagine it knows kung fu. So please make sure if you read this and are looking into a Bengal to verify yours is at least a 3rd or 4th pairing. 5th and up is better. Good luck.
I am afraid to confuse my cat by using the open hand, which I also use for the command "stay".
If I am not mistaken, you also use the same gesture for that. How do you make sure she understands the difference?
The voice command difference alone does not seem to do the trick – and she is showing to be much slower learning this (having associated the open hand to: do nothing), than other complex tricks like hopping on the shoulder.
Why use the sound to train the cat and not just give the treat Everytime?
Thank you so much for making this content. You are awesome!
I have two kitties (domestic cats) that I'm teaching these tricks to and it's so fun for me and them. You've answered so many questions I had. Thank you!
0:23 Hell fucking no I won't leave the door open for my cat I'm okay with walking with my cat with a harness on but that's pretty much it
We just adopted a cat…….she is so sweet and super chill. I am excited for us to try training her. Gonna get a clicker ifs just more fun since i wont be the only one training her.
I tried most of them but my cat is just staring at me and then bumping against me with his head 😅
What to do if my cat only likes liquid sticks
Sorry but I don't think my cat understands he needs to touch my hand at all
So how do I make it understand that's the point?
Like sit… You put u your hand behind their head making them sit
But this
You say high 5
They don't understand that
This video seems pointless to me
I have watched a lot of videos about training my cat to do tricks like low five or high five abd just pike every other, this video also has the same problem, my cat takes the treat with its mouth
My cat bit my finger
Where did you get those nice wall bridge & shelves.
What treats do you recommend for beginners? (2 brother kitten’s) both 3months
I find clicking annoying and I bet most cats do too. they took to you as parents, their parents don't click anything. I get the association but no.
My cat tries to lick the candy of my hand, am i doing something wrong???
So I don’t have a clicker 😢 but I can click my tongue
My cat doesn’t focus and runs away
My cat use to do this, but now she does it but with her claws out and it sometimes scratches us. Does anyone have any advise on this?
Hi Albert, I'm having a lot of trouble with the high five trick. My cat licks my hand holding the treat and grabs my hand with his paw. He's trying to get the treat with his mouth not his paw. Help please!
My Bengal kitten keeps approaching with her nose first and then with the paw. So it doesn’t look like a high five 😢
Hi Albert! New sub here! Great video, very informative and nice to watch! I have one question. I charged the clicker, and we tried learning high five using your tutorial. But my Marcy claws at my hand instead of touching gently. Do you have any tips on how to stop her from clawing at my hand, because I don't want to click&reward when she scratches my hand, trying to get the treat?
This is lame
Love your videos! Can you remind your favorite treats? The link is broken. Thank you!
Hi there,, something wrong with yr Amazon cat treats website ….. URGENT. Thanks
I started doing your training methods with my 4 year old Bengal, and within a week he began to regularly seek this training time with me.
He is catching on so fast I can’t keep up, and have to come back and learn more here to teach him.
You have Revolutionized what was an already good relationship with my Bengal – Thank you!!!
My Bengal and I will probably be doing this indefinitely
My cat is very good at sitting but can't figure out high five. He doesn't know the treat is there even when i show him. He only goes for treats on the floor. Any ideas to get him to notice treats not on the floor? Maybe a treat that gives off more of a scent?
My cat doesnt have arm didnt work :/
Hi Albert & Mia. I find your videos great as every training is accompanied with a unique hand gesture which helps my cat Pippin understand the instructions. He already knows high-five, sit, lie down, kisses and that in just one week. He loves training. I wonder if you could do a video on teaching "fetch" please?
“I’ll assume your clicker is charged” looks at my clicky pen “yup, it’s charged”
How old is mia?
She doesn’t listen
My cat doesn’t lift the paw she just walks away
hi i’m currently trying to train my new kitten how to high-five, she knows how to sit but when I try to get her to high-five she tries to eat the treat from my hand and doesn’t lift a paw. any tips?
Please consider rescuing and adopting cats from your local shelter. Thank you.
This is not a common house cat… This is misleading.
Low audio
Solid advice. I'm currently owned by seven cats and like their predecessors they all quickly picked up on phrases, words, sounds, and gestures.
Plus the clicker (I use my tongue). If I precede the click with a name, I get that cat's attention. If I do five to seven rapid clicks without a name every cat in the room focuses on me and usually they approach, waiting to see what's up.
Two are harness trained, and two younger ones are still in training. The outdoors is full of stimulation so it takes a bit longer to get them into that routine.
Cats are extremely smart and if given attention will seek to please. We've never had any who knocked things over, scratched at good furniture, et cetera. They want to see us happy because we keep them happy and safe.
The clicker works.
I usually just use a clicky pen instead of a proper clicker, my cat doesn't seem to know the difference anyway so it's a win for the both of us.
It's really funny and interesting how easy it is to teach a cat a few tricks, while my cat over here is just not interested. She doesn't even want to sit in front of me becouse of a treat, if I don't give it to her right away, nah man she is outta there
I feel like my cat will be more interested in learning how to effectively slap me when I don’t give in to what she wants, before she learns how to high five 😂😂
