I have a 1 1/2 yr old Nebelung who is extremely vocal. We adopted him out of a shelter, only previous owner was a college kid who went back home amd couldnt keep him. He is neutered. We have always tried to decipher why he is so vocal. We have read his breed is vocal as a whole, but we hear all kinds of meows at all different times. He's nowhere close to aggressive. We just accept it and meow back to him. We have three humans in the home and hes our only pet, just always wondering the why
What are this guy's credentials except having followers ? He worked in shelters but never studied anything substantial about felines…

New cat would MEOOOO MEEOOOO MEEOOO like a dang human baby for the first week here. Emotional stress being moved, trying to talk to us, crying to go out (we waited some days), all of them??? I was loosing it. Night and day.
Now it's just about gone as we answer him, we ask him to show (food bowl, litter, sit on couch), he can go out now, and he is super cuddly so he seems happy here. no more baby behavior!
My new kitten (10 weeks old) he makes that squeak noise. He’ll squeak when you bump him in the bed. He’ll gently meow when I grab his plate and ask him, if he wants some good (which is wet food)
The occasional longer-than-usual meow that makes my entire household stop and appreciate the princess of the house ❤

Thank god my cats are pretty quiet. My cat only meows when he’s greeting me like saying hello or when I have the food cup lol but he’s not loud or over the top at all.
My cat started caterwauling me for her food. Sounded just like that clip you played. I put a stop to that really quick.
My cat 9 times out of 10 he is wanting me to play with him. What I haven’t figured out is him standing at the entrance of the kitchen practically screaming at me. My being in the kitchen for reasons unknown frequently seems to aggravate him.
The one meow that most people want to know about, he doesn't cover! That's the high pitch HELLO meow that they repeat over and over at night when you're sleeping. NOW, I usually hear it from females when they're not fixed or when my female was fixed and she would end up bringing me a toy but, males also walk around making this sound too? Why?
Try meowing back at your cat and see what happens. Back when we used to have cats, I'd meow back at them, and we'd meow back and forth. i literally made them meow literally every second. It was funny.
Thats cause adults cats know there is no point asking for things from other cats silly
My cat Mumble brings his "kill" (a stuffy) to get a treat. His presentation comes with extended, and grandiose meows. Haha! One day, I was busy cooking and he brought me 5 kills before I noticed. He got an extra treat lol
