Really good advice. I have a designated "treat spot" where I give them tiny bits of fish etc. when I'm cooking. They learn NOT to attack me when I'm giving the treat and then settle their pecking order stealing each other's food and such. It's actually entertaining seeing them figure it out.
I have a question, I didn't have the option to adopt a pair when I tried to adopt my babies. My question, my kittens are a month older then eachother. Will they still be a good pair being a month apart in age?
we have an eight-week-old five-pound kitten and a five-week-old 2 pound; does the same advice apply? the little one looks so helpless and tiny, it almost makes me cry when they go at it the minute we walked into the rescue the big one jumped on my shoulders and the little one started following me everywhere; since we were "chosen" so clearly we could not leave one behind; though we swore we'd only get one [we had two adults already [who came to us as rescues at five and six weeks [the five-week-old was raised by the two adults we had then and the six week old about nine years later, so these kittens fighting is new to me and is really upsetting; luckily our adult cats have taken the kittens on really well, they were a bit peeved at us for a week or so, but after that it was all fine; and they never went after the little ones in any way
There is one reason to bring a line kitten home..,,,, if it is was a lone remaining litter mate in a feral colony.
In my case, we rescued 4 (4) week old kittens from under a garage on a rural property.
4 weeks later, the rescued kittens had been socialized and brought to maximum health and happiness and then adopted to qualified new homes.
2 more weeks later we found out there had been one more kitten in that litter that we didn’t see at the time.
By then the little orphan was 8-9 weeks old, and was clearly unweight and undersized.
I’ve had her for 15 days now. It took a full week just to get her to a stage where I could touch here.
She is now coming along after two full weeks of constant attention though she remains terrified of anyone other than me:
my cat is about 1 year old and my roommates cat is 6 mos old and they play like this. the younger is always following around my cat and trying to initiate a cage match 😂 my cat is like the annoyed teenager who’s younger brother keeps busting in his room ❤ was a little worried they were fighting but this made me feel better lol
My family has a cat (Louis) and dog, so we got baby gates to keep them both separated until they got used to each other. However, I don’t really see the cat often (He belongs to my stepfamily and stays with my stepbrother), but occasionally I’ll see him by the baby gates. Sometimes I’ll go over and try to interact with him, or just sit there so he can get used to me and see I’m not a threat (Stepfamily moved in barely a year ago, but again, I hardly see him due to school and divorced parents). Today I went over again, and I noticed that he kept trying to reach through the baby gate to swat at my hand. It wasn’t like an attack or anything, he was just lounging on his side and kinda did a slow reach over. He did that a few times, so I thought he might want to play. He isn’t very active, so I figured he might be trying to burn off some pent up energy. He was also rolling on his back and side, almost like he wanted me to pet him, but seeing as he’s usually shy, I doubt that he actually wanted that. Some of his body language included his tail flicking to and fro (at first slowly, and then as I tried playing with him it got faster), ears were perked up, and his pupils were fairly big. His fur didn’t seem to be fluffed up either. He did swat at the toy and try to bite it twice. Was this him being agitated and wanting to be left alone or him actually wanting to play ?
Landlord restrictions say how many I can have.
I have a crazy, unique senior cat… and then a kitten. The kitten copies everything my ‘one of a kind’ senior. She licks walls looking at the older cat, and I’m betting she’s thinking ‘these walls, why do you lick them ‘ 😂.
Using this to find out if my kitten is excited in good way or a bad way when playing with my dog
Any advice on a newcomer to an outdoor colony??
He's become very territorial and has scared away several of our colony cats who have lived here for 3 years. He's just about a year…had him neutered in July (TNR'd), which we thought would calm him down. But we don't know if that's how he plays or if he's being serious… We don't want our original guys to be afraid to come home anymore…
We are trying to adopt him out, but what can we do in the meantime?

Thank you!
So what about the situation I’m in. I have a new kitten with a full grown 10 year old cat and they do this but it gets to a point where the kitten seems to go too far and then the adult cat with slam her down and the kitten gets scared and the older cat seems to get angry. They seem to get ovee it and play soon after though. They will not play with toys together either. The other day he was licking her then out of no where started wacking her hard like she made him mad just laying there.
Jackson I have a question I have a new long haired tortishell and she attacks me to lay next to me over night. Like she wants to sleep between my calves or ankles and she attacks me if they are "in her space" but that's my space for my legs she's in between 😆 helllllp she's been biting my big toe so hard and she's 20 weeks what do I do?
My kittens are from 2 different litters. One I've had since 2 wks old, bottle fed from a litter of 6 that I rescued. After finding the other 5 kittens homes, I happened to find another kitten… Cat distribution system at its finest 😂. The new kitten is about 3 weeks younger than the kitten I kept. They play like this non stop, and literally will not stop to eat or do anything else. They will even wrestle in the litter box, while the other one is trying to go to the bathroom. I keep separating them, and put one in my bedroom / bathroom and the other one in the living area of my home. Then while separated they both sit at the door between them, and kitten #1 chirps. My older kitten started this new sound of chirping when I brought kitten #2 home. I'm not sure what this chirping sound means. When they're together they don't do anything but wrestle. They don't even pause to eat. At what point will they just be chill around each other so I don't have to keep separating them?
Yes mine are doing the same exact thing… 😂 I'm a little concerned… I try to calm them down with talking low and telling them to calm down a little… Thank you so so much… My Twins Bombay ( Boys ) are always wrestling 😂 but Pharaoh makes the most noises and Cairo is the Pounce Master… 😂 Yes and I do play with them with their toys as well… 🙏💝🌹
If this happens with my three year old cat and 5 month old kitten and my kittens making noise and hissing. My older cat will sit his whole body on her and just lay on her and bite her and then tumble her. He’s not making noise. I’m curious if it’s because he’s uncomfortable and is showing he’s annoyed? I’ve been very encouraging of them both and using positive reinforcement with food and they do play a lot and they follow each other around and my older cat was having anxiety issues and peeing in inappropriate places and now he isn’t. So, I’m just curious if I should just let them be and trust that when she’s older and bigger she won’t seem like she’s so uncomfortable?
lol the horse and cat picture I have a picture I took of my old horse but the cat and horse were calm and just chilling. 😂
I play rough with my kitten, is that a bad thing?

I adopted an 8 week old kitten about 9 days ago and then rescued a tiny, stray kitten (maybe 4-5 weeks old). And I feed the kittens together and have play time together so they’re having happy moments together. I REALLY want them to bond because having separate litterboxes and separate spaces is getting tricky. And when they play, Tula (the older one) hisses and growls. Joey (tiny guy) doesn’t seem phased and will pounce on her. Play? Tula hisses and growls though. I just don’t want to create enemies.
What if one kitten is a month old and the other is 3 months 😅I’m worried my older kitten is hurting the baby but she’s too little to do anything
