I thought you were gonna talk about science
I can concur! I don’t have a cat; but a cat purring video helps me sleep & once when my pressure was up (with headache)I turned on the video at work & my headache went away. I turned it off & everything returned; so I turned it back on & at lunch took a nap with it on & woke up feeling strong & pain free!
If my allergies allow; I want a cat!!! But would still use the video at work! ❤❤😂😂😂❤❤
My cat makes me feel so safe
When my Chartreux Tom Cat, Tommy, would purr, I would tell him, “Good Tommy!”, as he was very doglike, when he was alive. May he rest in peace.
I had to put my dog down. My cat stayed by my side and just purred and cuddled me hardcore head bumps and I wouldn’t have made it without him.
Cats’ purring is healing, I’m convinced of it.. since I got my kittens one of them has been inseparable with me. I’ve noticed their purring serves different mechanics.. sometimes it is hypnotic & they will curl up, purring & put me to ease & make me fall asleep. “Cat purralysis.” There’s a reason humans worshiped cats throughout history 😉
They also see & perceive energy & they help heal us.
Sometimes one of mine will position himself over my heart.. then move to different areas that need healing.. I can feel it reverberating through my body. I always give them lots of love back, they have helped me so much.
Cats Can also take on their human’s ailments so sometimes it makes them sick.
My psychiatrist wrote me an emotional support letter and recommended a cat when I became suicidal and lonely after a health scare. He is now my best, my source of joy, and my little baby ! I love holding him and hearing him purr when I’m sad or stressed. Relaxes me and puts me to sleep .
Within the first few days that I was pregnant, before I even knew, my cats started showing different behavior. Both took turns laying across my lower belly and calmly purring and slowly blinking at me, when I was laying in bed. It seemed like they were purposefully doing this with some type of determined meaning, so I didn’t want to move them. I will say that the vibrations of the purring seemed to help the minor cramping I was feeling and felt like a lullaby. It’s interesting, I think they knew I was pregnant nearly right away.
Feline healing. ❤
👍
Actually when I was at Cornell University we.did.a.research. project on the vibrations and Frequencies of cats ( yes many) purrs. We had ranges.from 25 all the way to 255!!! And a vibration frequency of 20- 50 actually helps the bone building process,. Increase in bone density, healing wounds, recovering from illness and surgeries!!! In one study An older dog was scheduled to be euthanized because his quality of life was down because he lost the ability to walk…but researchers wanted to try something.. Yep they had the dog wear headphones of a cat purring for 20 min A for 3 days..and on the 4 th day he was able to stand up and on day 10 he was back with his owner doing daily walks!! People don't realize that we actually cannot hear the Symphony of all kinds of vibrations and frequencies actually go into purring. Many times sick cats will be heard purring…they are healing themselves!! I came to the conclusion that 9 lives of a cat has far deeper meaning. I would highly recommend hanging out with a purring cat if you just had surgery, are ill, and especially if you want to increase your bone density!!!I guarantee after a good solid hour or 2 of purring…U will at the very least find your self much happier and content!!! Purr on!!
I recently severely bruised or hairline fracture on my ribs. I only know this cuz it's happened before. I heard that the purr helps bone growth so I've been keeping my Jerry near my damaged ribs and it honestly had helped. I had to test the theory when I had the chance
My first time having a pet. I thought my cat is sick because in human, it sounds like a congested nasal cavity or having a phlegm. My cat sounds like a motorcycle tho.
Whenever I have terrible menstrual cramps I hold my cat …..cat purr reduces my cramps
I've been taking care of a little stray kitty.
She's laying next to my ribcage.
I have some pain in my upper abdomen, and I just noticed that her purring seems to be alleviating the pain some.
There's some sort of buzzing occuring in that area, in response to her purring, and it almost feels like it's healing the pain to some degree.
I decided to look online to see if there's any information about that, and I came across this video.
It DOES appear that a cats purring has a positive effect on the human body! 😃
These are the beta wave, healing, and relaxation
I laid down next to my cat and listened to his relaxing purr as we both listened to the video.
"Soundtrack of contentment." Love ❤ that.
I always snuggle the kitties when I'm stressed ❤️
Any low frequency probably calms the mind. There's nothing special about your cat other than how you feel about it.
I ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ purring!
Growing-up in a VERY dysfunctional family, my cats were my stress relief, familiy; etc.
I loved and still do love laying gently on my cat or near them and hearing them purr, when they do.. Honestly my White Noise has not been birds or the ocean as I'm Landlocked, but a purring cat HANDS down then as it is now for me as an adult.
Every cat I met since I was a kid has been a special friend. Some cats purred more than others. One purrs all the time almost when hes around us or eating or anything. And the little cat I rescued here purs alot when she sees me and she's playful I love the sound.
Cats sometimes purr when they're in pain. Not always a sign of contentment.
It's my off day, but I watch these on any and every day as long as I remember to put on you tube, oh and get my notifications.
If your doctor recommend you get a cat? Get two or more, and don't forget, adopt don't shop, and be the best human patent in the world to your cat(s).
Yeah the spirit, weather you deserve it or not, but you should make sure your cat is not purring for a negative reason
No! A purring cat who's a happy cat is awesome.
But a purring cat isn't always a happy cat
Humans shouldn't expect their cats purring to benefit them in any way, the cat's happiness and well being is important, not the humans
First, thank you for all of the fun, informative videos about all the behaviours and nuances of cats, that I thought I already knew! 🤔
Second, my cat has been my furry Rock of Gibraltar and "therapist" through years of anxiety, depression and isolation. She has seen me at my lowest of lows, and been there when things are going right. She made a wise choice when she adopted ME! 🤗😍
Idk if a cats purr has the innate ability to heal us (research say it can heal them) or if its something we humans attribute to them. Either way nothing soothes my mind like a purring cat sat on my lap!
My doctor told me get burmese all siamese. Got siamese than he got depresson so i got 2nd siamese. They have helped me with my mental health. Got depreson ancierty pdsd. And simba 7year old has helped me when im crying not well hes beside me. Caspa is 4 starting show same as simba. They both no my moods was sick with covid they both keept waking me up in turn by patting there there paws on my face see if i was ok. And they are the best cats had simba caspa camping long rd trips simba is one person cat caspa will walk up to anyone but they are indoor cats
Purring Calms me so much… Anxiety goes away immediately! One of the best sounds in the world! 🥰🥰
Just being near my kitties makes me happy!
I have have had a number of people- including my physicians- note that I have healed (from surgeries and broken bones) faster than expected; my cat was simply enjoying the extra lap time. I do know that he literally helps me sleep.
It's the most wonderful, mellow, sweet feeling. An absolute tonic for physical and mental health.
I love it when my fur baby curls up next to me on the couch or the bed or sleeps on my chest or side & he starts his motor i can easily go to sleep.i love to hear him Purr. If I get stressed out he tries his best to calm me down. He is my best friend. Lol my husband can't even calm me like my cat can.
Can we just straighten out this “owner” nonsense? Guardian is a better word, owning another sentient being is kind of icky.
Also, if there’s an owner, it’s not us. We’re the household servants.
Cats purring is a wonderful gift from nature, and cats in general improve our mental and physical health in tons of ways. I've never had a doctor recommend I get a cat, but that's because my family had cats since before I was born. My dad was actually nervous about it, because of superstitions about cats suffocating babies, but my mom was able to reassure him that they'd be careful to prevent anything. Those two cats ended up seeing me as their baby too, and would come running the second they heard me crying. They'd look at my parents with an expression like, "UM HELLO?? THE BABY NEEDS SOMETHING???" and they slept next to me in my crib.
I definitely think my cats have made me a better person along with helping me through really difficult times. When I was 4 my dad was killed in a violent manner and it was traumatizing for the entire family. I have 2 older brothers and didn't want to make them even more worried about me, or make the adults in our life ignore their grief because I was younger than them. So I did my best to cry in private, and every time one of my cats would come to find me and try to comfort me. It's honestly a heartwarming feeling I'll never forget, to have that kind of dedicated caring directed towards me from animals that are so different from me. It eased a lot of my loneliness and bitterness about losing my dad, and I think I'd be a much more callous person without those experiences. Specifically, a stray cat gave birth in our backyard just 3 weeks after my dad died, and she wasn't interested in raising the kittens so we took them in and bottle-fed them. One of the kittens was this sweet and social black cat that everyone instantly fell in love with. We couldn't keep all of the kittens but we all agreed that we wanted him. Maybe it sounds silly, but I don't think there could've been a better distraction from our grief than raising 3 kittens. (We also tried our hardest to get the stray cat neutered, but it took 2 years after that because she was Very feral and distrusting.) We named the black kitten Bob, and he was just perfect. Sweet, playful, sociable, but still mellow and easily adapted to our household. He passed away at 20 recently, but he was our best friend through every single rough situation following my dad's death. People say black cats are unlucky but I swear, he filled every day of our lives with good luck and happiness and the will to carry on when things got difficult.
My cats have also given me a lot of "nurturing" skills, in like… being understanding of people being picky eaters, or not turning my nose up at cleaning up cat barf/poop, being intuitive about how to make someone more comfortable, etc. My mom had an accident in 2020 and as I was doing things like showering her, helping her eat, helping her get dressed, keeping an eye out for signs she was in pain so we could catch it before it got too intense for a painkiller to help, etc she said she was really grateful that I took to that kind of thing "naturally". And of course I appreciated that sentiment, but I don't really think it's something I picked up on naturally, I think it's that having cats and dogs all my life acclimated me to thinking about care-taking. Like, when you have an older cat that has joint pain, you start to anticipate when the pain will flare up and how to make it easier to get around the house or access food, and that's really similar to trying to minimize your parent's pain and difficulty doing everyday tasks. People who don't like cats tend not to like them because they're so human-like in wanting boundaries & respect & to build trust, and on the flip-side I think that living with cats all my life has made me better at accepting those parts of other humans too. It's easy to forget but everyone has their own story, everyone is scared of being mistreated, and that's why relationships & social situations can become a tangled mess.
Especially our old Koschka was a purr machine par excellance. Everyone from the Vet to our sick kids to a Lithuanian young adult who had grown up in an orphange and suffered horrible nightmares was gifted her deep and steady purr and, if possible, her warm presence on the covers. Sixteen years of gentle, loving thrumming away at the world, peace to her warm fuzzy soul! She was a born therapist.
I always seem to have a better night’s sleep when Ziva is sleeping right next to me so I happen to think that cats do have beneficial effect for humans I only hope that when it’s time for her to go to the rainbow bridge I can find another cat that is just as beneficial as she is
yes they have. I love to hear my cats purr
👍👌❤🇨🇦,
My cats bring me such joy.
The best feeling from purring happens when my Siamese loafs on my chest. I can feel his purring resonating through my body. So purring is integral in bonding between cats and humans.
My tabby Clyde a rescue cat will be one year old in September. Cold, hungry, scared and stuck in a fence when a friend's young daughters found him. A tiny kitten to full grown in a year. He jumps up on my shoulder when I come in after work and I sit with him purring and head butting me as we relax in my easy chair for fifteen minutes. The most awesome way to end a work day.
I wouldn't have it any other way.
I didn’t live with pets full time until the last couple of years, but they’ve definitely improved my stress and anxiety levels. I don’t get sick often, but they’re very comforting when I do.
