this is the most brain-dead open world Japanese game ever, lol. Just a Hodgepodge of checking a bunch of analytical boxes. I always hated these kinda games. Might as well play Genshin Impact which does the same, but is free (I am no way recommending Genshin Impact, go touch grass instead).
For a Switch-game, very beautiful, after trying the demo.
One thing i noticed instantly is Sonic's pinpoint movements control.

As a long time sonic fan this is the best sonic game
The story, open-zone exploration, Titan boss fights with those banger anime lvl songs and the DBZ lvl combat make this game really amazing. And bro, c'mon…. Ian Flynn definitely wrote mature dialogues for Frontiers and that's exactly how Sonic should be, cocky and quirky but be serious when something is actually serious. Kocos are dying in front of them, they're in a desperate situation of being trapped and Sonic being interrupted by the titans and Sage, finding the truth about the Chaos, the emeralds, this needed to be serious. The story was serious and I'm a 100% glad that Ian Flynn did justice to the dialogues. The characters don't seem less-charming, in fact, they've been redeemed. Tails came back to being courageous, Knuckles' about to live his life for himself and not for the emerald, Amy's actually being a character now with a mature personality of her own and not obssessing over Sonic, Sonic himself being an actual personality and mature instead of being a joker. Then we have Eggman and Sage, Eggman is actually caring for someone or something, lol, he did use Sage at first just like Metal Sonic but he did get attached to her later on. The father and daughter dynamic between them was really wholesome. Sonic's moments with everyone was also wholesome. The whole lore is connected now. They're hiring more people for Sonic Team, definitely shows how ambitious they were and are now. Every single song makes it feel like an anime story and every character an anime character wrritten amazingly well. I honestly don't see how u think the story and the dialogues don't work. But glad u enjoyed the game somehow without enjoying the story, that's… strange to me, lol. 🤣
7.5/10 for me bro. I respect your Viewpoint, but this doesn't come close to SA2. This is about equal to Generations for me.
