Just added a kitten and it is the first time I have seen my 8yr old (rescued as a young adult) properly play. Tips on helping a neurodivergent 4yr old be kind to the kitten would be good! She has places to hide and is learning to go to them, but the boy is sad that she is starting to avoid him 🙁 he can't control his impulses very easily.
vislork – forbidden supplements and vitamins (thank me later)
Dude hit the gym, not fat shaming but holy cow man. 😮
Hi Jackson, I’ve been following you for a couple of years. I’ve been really greatfull for all your content and respect the amount of effort and dedication you put in to your content.
We rescued a kitten at 8 weeks old from our local animal shelter 11 years.
When we got him we didn’t know he was a Russian Blue (ie high maintenance cat). But wouldn’t change him for anything. ❤
At the start of the year for some reason his regular litter was just not available anywhere so I got the closest thing to it.
But unfortunately it led to him starting to pee outside the litter tray!!
I know Jackson I know I should have 2 trays for him but in the small flat I have there is absolutely no place for it. I’ve tried.
Managed to get a big bulk of his normal litter but he was still peeing on beds, on rugs any soft surfaces, I can no longer have small kitchen mats/rugs or bathroom mats, (I cover my stove often with a large hand towel after cleaning it and yup he started peeing on my stove. He has urinated on my bed the most 😢he’s also done it a couple of times to daughters bed. But he mainly aimed for my bed. Strangely he left my sons bed alone 😮
He’s been to the vet no UTI issues thankfully. All tests came back with a clean bill of health. Apart from he should lose some weight.
But as winter is coming he wants backs to being able to sleep everywhere like he used to. But at the same time he can’t be trusted to not start wetting the beds again 🤦♀️I literally had a breakdown as he felt my bed was the best best place to pee on.
Also my daughters. But mostly me.
The whole stink from cat pee on beds is so hard to deal with.
I’m disabled and chronically in pain and have other medical issues. So waking up wet in bed I thought because I have incontinence issues it was me 😂 totally messed with my head.
Also because even now as he ages if he feels like it he will find a soft place and pee on it. Also he’s drinking a lot more water than he used to. Which I also understand can be a reason for the “accidents “
His litter tray is cleaned 3x time more often than before. But even with a clean litter tray he pees on the mat in front of tray that catches litter as he comes out of his tray. I feel so guilty for not letting home sleep on the beds
He always had access to all 3 beds and the sofas to sleep on. In winter the electric blankets were on 24/7 for him to be nice and warm in any of our beds. But now the bedrooms are not accessible to him anymore (I feel so bad but there is only so many duvets and sheets I can throw out it’s expensive 😢 and how many times can I turn a mattress over. I have got the mattress covers thank are for incontinence and those have saved me a couple of times but the duvets cants be washed at home and dry cleaning costs just as much just buying a new duvet.
I have bought him a cosy cat bed but he liked it for a while now as it gets colder he’s searching for the warmth of beds. Lucky ruled the house.
He literally would swap beds anytime he wanted.
Totally spoiled I know but he’s loved so much by us.
Now with the vet giving him a clean bill of health. I do not know what do 😢
As a younger cat he would leave “💩” when he had a tantrum or was unhappy but it was rare.
But now I’ve tried leaving food where he pee the most but that didn’t help.
Any help or assistance from anyone would be greatly appreciated.
Lucky has been a gift to my daughter who has “high functioning autism” he helps her calm down. Much like a “Spoilt Therapy Cat”
Also for myself as I’m unwell and I’m either lying on my couch or bed. He’s been using me since he was kitten to sleep on. When he was little he slept on my chest, now it’s mostly on my upper legs as he’s gotten older. So during the time I’m awake in the living room he uses me as his bed. But when I go to bed he uses his cat bed but is not happy with it.
I’m sorry to ramble on so long but I would love to have Lucky back in the bedroom. But the urinating is hard for me to physically and mentally to deal with. As mentioned I have my own health issues to deal with. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Jackson for all your amazing advice and insights.
But our 11 year old Lucky our royal Russian Blue wants it his way only, 😅 typical cat personality. He is extremely food motivated. But the vet wants him to lose weight 😅. Big blue sea and a mountain is where I’m at.
Please any help or tips would be greatly appreciated ❤
The day I adopted my cat, I put her in the carrier and when we got in the car she laid down in it and was putting it so I would reach my hand out so she could pet me. Now I expected her to go and hide for a couple days, but this was not the case when I let her out of the carrier, she plopped down in the hallway and began bathing. She doesn't cuddle, but she does demand pats, she pets you very hard, she also wags her tail when she is content, she will also wag her tail when she is in play mod. When she plays kind of roughly she will grab your hand without nails and hold with her teeth (no hard biting) it feels like she is intentionally holding back. I bought her a whack a mole type toy that has both a feather and a laser light (the light is pointed down to the ground), this is for we are not home.
The rescue was feeding her some sort of prescription food, that was dry and first ingredient was soy! She didn't have any health issues, the woman at the rescue said it was because she is a Siamese and they have tummy issues. (I have had Meezers in the past and no issues whatsoever) I changed her to a wet food meat based diet. I use both Feline Natural once a day, and Tiki Cat shredded Salmon in a salmon comsume`. The Feline Natural is her kitty crack, she is so addicted to it, I have never seen a cat nearly climb the walls over food. She doesn't do the cat blink she instead look at you very deeply. She does break some of the stereo typical norms of cat behavior, and in my few weeks of ownership my little Torti point Meezer is such an awesome kitteh!
Hello Jackson! I'm Eloisa and I'm from Brasil. I recentrly started my life as a cat guardian and yours videos have saved me day by day. In the middle of a bunch of information I heard somenthing diferent of your orientation: the cats feeds themselfs a lot of time during the day (the same behavior in nature) so we need to get free food .. I heard another information that if we limited food the level of stress increased… Please help to clarify this specific point !! Thank you so much – (I understood your point about routine and make sense to me)
Hi Jackson, I have a cat that had babies and I told my son that if anyone wanted One And didn't have any other pets they had to have 2. Because they get lonely just like we do. And guess what, I did have a gentleman who adopted 2 of the 4 babies.. And they are doing very well. He's retired military and single so he has plenty of time and love to give them. Thank you for everything you share with us. I forward all your hacks to my friends so they are in the know also. Much love from my fur babies and I.
Does anyone have any good ideas about how to block over spaces in a home with a loft and half wall that leads to a high ledge?
@jacksongalaxy
I have noticed the meals, and i have a senior pitbull and a senior calico, they adjusted well to our rescue kitten by getting meals all at the same time. It took about 2 months for our cat to adjust to the baby. Now he's acting as senior cat and it's so sweet. Our dog took to her so fast. And both are moving better since she recovered and got to 3 months almost. The only thing is how do we get her to stop attacking our hands when she's got zoomies.
Ohh I was thinking I did that but I also did put all the litter boxes in the same place 🤦🏼♀️
What an amazing video! Thank you for sharing such valuable insights.
My recommendation to all beginners would be to go Vislork, it goes deep into all of this, and it helped my cat for real.
It's still a shock to me that dry food is so bad for them. Could that be the reason why many cats die of kidney failure? 🙁
My kitties love their career. They love going on bike rides and stuff.I have one of those backpack ones. They love it
Jackson doesn’t even have a cat
changing de litter i find it to be true my young 5 yr old kitten we changed it n she pooped outta de box but once we got her old litterbox she went bk to using de old litterbox

I don't need to cut my cats "Ninja" blades….18 razors of Death!!!
Not Everyone can have 2 or more cats !
I foster from a local shelter. At the moment I've got Mum and 6 beautiful kittens. All abandoned in a crate on an industrial estate 😢
Now they'll soon be going to a good forever home. X
Why does my cat stare at me? Lol ❤
Jackson I want to know what your monthly bill is for pet insurance for your gaggle of pets. I feel like paying for disease treatments straight up would be cheaper if you have that many pets because odds are only one or two will need it and their bills will ultimately be less than the monthly insurance x 10 pets.
I have to disagree about the fountains. They're such a pain to clean. Truly. Its 100x easier to clean and refresh regular water bowls every day than it is to clean fountains and filters once a week or twice a month.
I'm going to suggest…a recall signal.
When I would go out, last thing before I'd go out the door, I'd shake the food jar……and all the cats would come running because they knew they would be fed.
It was my way of making sure that no one was shut up in a closet. It was also part of the goodbye ritual, so they would know that I was leaving but then I would come back.
When we had the house painted, a window got left open without a screen by accident…and one of the cats slipped out. We spent two weeks looking for Whiskers. In desperation one night, I waited until the neighborhood was quiet (11:30pm) and then went outside and shook the food jar…HARD.
…and Whiskers came back.
I think all you'd have to do is choose a signal and do it every time you feed. It saved us….
If we add a cat to our feisty 6 year old male's house, should it be same sex….kitten or same age range? Linda
Excellent topic! Good video. I have been shopping for backpack carrier on wheels for a large kitty. Another topic. My concern is strong enough floor.
Thanks jackson! 🐈⬛🐭🐾🐾
Hello! My name is Cami and please please read my comment!!! You’re like THE cat expert and motivated me to get my current kitten. The only problem is that my roommate has a cat too! My kitty (Arthur) is a little 5 month old and my roommates is an 11 year old calico girl (Holly). Ever since I brought Arthur to my apartment him and Holly do not get along! He seems innocent and just wants to play but she is very hostile, batting at him and growling and hissing. It’s been a few months of this and I’m afraid they will never like each other. My roommate and I have tried everything. We separated them when Arthur first arrived and tried to gradually introduce them but she just won’t budge. We tried parallel play, we tried feeding them treats every time they come into contact, we have sat with them and pet them and tried to show Holly Arthur isn’t a threat. But it doesn’t seem to be working. Holly is very upset whenever Arthur comes around and seems to get pretty stressed. My concern is that Holly’s health is at risk if she continues to feel this stress, and Arthur’s social skills will be stunted. Please please please like this so he sees because all I want is for these kitties to get along. Thank you!!
What if my cat doesnt like wet/raw food?
Jackson, why does my cat watch every thing I do and I mean every thing! Brushing my teeth, cooking, changing my clothes, brushing my hair, putting on my makeup, lip stick…..
You say paly before food. What my cat does to me is play before medication. It's not about he don't drink his serup and hates totally. It just start running around the house hiding and jumping whenever he sees his medicine and I have to be the predator who's gonna chase my pray and catch it. And when I do this he used to do a complete submission and boom he drinks his medicine a whole total 3ml at once😂😂😂😂😂😂it's be like, "Hey dude, you want me to drink that shit of slime thik water which tastes worse than bitter gourd. Come after me and catch me if you can. Prove yourself to worthy enough to ride this tiger up, gruaaa." And after getting caught, "Okey, you win this time. Do as you can until I grow up into a complete tiger. Then you'll be dead before taking a single step towards me.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
thanks a lot
