I think grabbing the collar assimilates the bites from the mom to calm the children down
YYeAASssss❤ thank you for this educational video. Appreciate you,you beautiful Human
Can anyone give me some advice? Every time I try this and grab my puppies collar, he resorts to flopping on the ground and laying on his back.
Puppies are usually playing nipping and biting their littermates . Its hard to play with them without them using their mouth.
what if ur pup doesn’t wear his collar inside the house
I tried it this morning before she ate when I knew she was hungry and this worked beautifully. I will keep working at it, thank you so much!
Really useful thanks. My 17 wk old bites alot so I will be doing this
Fala demais e ainda tem uma voz insuportável
I’m going to try this as every morning upon waking and a few times a day, my 12 week old goes full on shark.
How old is Steven in this video
So my pup only nips when we stop playing, if we start playing soon after she nips harder, she only tends to aim for my hands tho and feet especially if we are playing fetch she brings the ball and then nips
Great tips on managing puppy nipping! The collar technique really helps establish calmness during play. Thanks for sharing!
Which breed is your puppy Steven
Any advice for a deaf dog
I got all of my rescues, my own dogs, and other people's dogs to stop biting as puppies.
You guys are the best for training tips!
I am facing a strange issue. I did one of these exercises with my puppy and now he feels he has to be aggressive to get the command settle to get the treat. So we start the play, first he used to go after my hands but now he goes after my shoe laces and then ask him to settle (which he does immediately!) but as soon as ge gets the treat, he is at it again! He is 50 days old!
What if the puppy is just biting to make you stop him and give him a treat?
If only you could do all that training with men.
I have a 9 week golden and this is literally a game changer. Settle is now a command for anything we dont want bitten! Couple this with some bitter apple spray and some redirection with chew toys and I have seen significant improvement. I feel like in 2 more weeks he will just not bite us!
I’ve been trying to do step 1 and she stops and does steady amazing…but, now she nips because she knows I’ll tell her steady and give her the treat. She figured that loop hole from the training. It encourage her to nip and bite more. So I’m stuck in Step 1.
None of this works for our puppy.
My dog is 4 months and she turns randomly on a leash and she’s so aggressive. I’ve tried everything. If I hold her by the collar and shake it. She gets so much worse and it’s hard to control her. I’ve held her down for many minutes and she is so wild. She never gets calm that makes it worse. When I let go she goes after me again. If I touch her collar she freaks out.
Girl, you are stunning and have wonderful energy!!!!! Thanks for the tips!! I lost my sweet girl on Christmas eve to a brain tumour 🙁
But just got a new bassat hound pup named fern! 💓
I just adopted a three year old golden Cocker Spaniel so that my eleven year old Spaniel has a playmate. The problem is that my new family member snaps at my desert tortoises in my backyard when they come up from their tunnels. Any suggestions about how to make it stop? Thanks.
My husband’s name is Steven so it was quite funny 😂😂
This video is awesome, I hope it works for my pup. He bites so hard.
