Even though I'm not that much of a Mario fan, I still plan on watching this movie. I just really want to get into Mario, and I feel like this movie is giving me that opportunity. The visuals look great, and the voice acting is surprisingly good. Yea, I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed that Chris Pratt's voice is a little different. I noticed while watching it that he does say certain words differently than how he would normally say them. Anyways, I'm looking forward to seeing this movie! 🙂

I’ve been having a crappy couple of week so this trailer reminded me of why I love Mario and is giving me something to be happy about.

I think I might end up preferring Chris Pratt's Mario to Charles Martinet. Don't get me wrong, I love the way Mario is portrayed in the games but I think an easily understandable voice will help Mario becuase of how much he'll be talking.

I absolutely love the art style for the movie. Mario’s design was a little jarring at first, but it’s really grown on me. Bowser and Luigi looked amazing right off the bat, and Toad looks like he was pulled straight from the games. And although she wasn’t in the trailer, the design for Princess Peach leaked and she looks absolutely adorable, she looks like a Disney Princess and I’m all for it!
it's definitely not JUST Chris Pratts voice. But it also doesn't sound enough like Mario to matter. Now I agree that we definitely need to hear more to really decide whether it's good or not, but by then the movie might be out and it will be too late. If no changes are made that is. Also not everything in an adaptation needs to be exactly the same.
Totally agree with all your thoughts. Happy to see another person who isn’t super critical of Pratt’s Mario. It’s going to be fine, it’s just that everyone was spoiled with how perfect everything else in the trailer is, that Pratt’s performance sticks out more.
Also love that you brought up the Adventures comic. The more this movie pulls from that comic, the better.
My main reason that I'm kinda cynical of the voice acting for Mario is because it feels disrespectful to Charles Martinet. But I love everything else about this, especially Jack Black's performance
I personally kinda hate the artistic direction,I really don't like any of the characters faces,I dislike that penguin Kings face,his expressions,same goes for bowser,they have gave him Jack Black expressionism and I hate that,why should some voice actor that i dont actually like have any influence on thr characters i grew up with ?,shouldnt it be the other way around,they gwt paid to do the job of filling in the blanks,not the other way around,and as far as mario .. doesn't look like the mario I grew up with,he looks like a child in adult clothing and the voice is wrong
The entire thing looks squeeeky clean and fake,like a claymation animation but cheaper done in cgi,untextured or something idk .. just looks garbage to me,looks ugly,washed of any true character .. I think they have made this look like the super mario Funland place .. like perfect plastic,that's prolly why I don't like it .. its all about money,the toys will look like the movie .. like toy story but sickenly yuck
