This trailer is wild! There is so many references jammed into those couple of minutes that it makes our Lich brains hurt! Tell us your thoughts about the trailer? Are you excited enough to go and see this at the theater or is this a "wait until it's streaming" kinda flick? Do you agree with our theory? Are we completely wrong (probably)? Thanks for watching!
That would be a great ending.
Sadly the era we're in we would be lucky if they noticed or paid attention to reviews of their trailer like this one!
A side note what if the druid is carrying something that allows her to wild shape into an owlbear?
Led Zeppelin songs are full of D&D/Lord of the Rings inspired lyrics. It’s a perfect choice. Maybe add some Rush songs from the 70s for the same reason.

Nah, this movie will be like the Warcraft movie. Too thin for ultra-geeks, too otherworldly for general population, too whimsical for serious fans, bland AND oddly specific comedy for those who know close to nothing of DnD.
I would like a success for this movie, but yeah, this is my prediction. Will be back in comments after cinema (if I don't forget about this video, tho).
I have heard a rumor that the CR gang makes a cameo, so I think your secret theory has a lot of worth.
1. If you would notice, the Tiefling Druid is a D&D 3.5 edition Tiefling as she looks nothing like a 5th edition Tiefling… And they had a feat that would allow them to do this.
2. Who said it was wildshape? Ninth level True Polymorph… You may have missed it, but she started out as a horse and transformed into the Owlbear without changing back into a Tiefling in between.
3. They have been hinting for a while that Owlbears may be reclassified into something that is not a Monstrosity… In the books, Elves have said that Owlbears are MUCH older than humans think. And there are rumors that this movie is partly based on 5.5 edition or 6th edition(whichever name they go with).
This movie absolutely IS made by D&D nerds…
There is SO much Forgotten Realms lore in this trailer, that it is totally insane.
The big fat red dragon is a famous NAMED dragon kept by the Underdark dwarves to power their forges.
The Black dragon uses an acid attack!
They animate the Gold dragon statues!
The litch Szass Tam leading the Red Wizards of Thay!
well, I personally think the movie will be pretty good, because of the fact that the directors of the film worked with the D&D department about the movie, and the prison in Icewind dale was in the script of the movie before it was in the book. Also, the soldiers in the scene with the black dragon kinda looked like dragon cultists because all the helmets have wings coming out the sides of them. That is my theory.
A couple observations: for all the whining rules lawyers out there on the interwebs who are butt hurt about the owl bear "controversy" – relax. If you're that kind of pedantic killjoy at at the table, I would neve want to play with you, and to be a bit pedantic in return, the "Rule of Cool" (and official 5e term, and something DM's have been doing unofficially since D&D has existed) states if it makes the game more fun, interesting, cool, etc. let it fucking happen (just be consistent about it later)…
Also I doubt it's the Horn of Orcus since that's not a FR thing, but something Matt Mercer made up for his Vox Machina campaign. Maybe I'm wrong but I think the fact it's a CR thing makes it unlikely it'd be in this movie.
You pissed me off.
Do you assholes hate dungeon & dragons! Ugh! Enjoy it for what it is your being cocks! F off.
This shits going to kill at the box office!
The best reveal would be that Vin Diesel's the DM
It's better that they follow the Marvel movies rather than the 1st DnD movie.
I am 100% behind that theory if only to remind us, at the end of the day, what D&D is.
Love your theories. I’m hoping T Swift will write a banger for this film 🤪 I’m willing to bet the end credits have something leading up to a sequel but hopefully it’ll get more people interested in playing. It just looks fun and it’s def not meant to be taken seriously.
