What is the point of crate training
Does anyone know why nearly every dog trainer recommends crate training? Is that for our convenience or for the good of the dog? I intend to bring my dog to work in the van, my last dog loved it and didn’t require any encouragement but not sure if it’s natural
I just got my new mini-Schnauzer at her 5.5 months old but I have to keep her at the pet shop until my new place is fully renovated by end of November… will that be too late to train her? Should I bring her home for a couple of nights and place her back to the pet shop ? I don’t think I should, but I just want to have a professional to tell me what I should do 😢
Don't laugh….! I didn't put my first puppy's crate beside my bed: I put my bed beside the crate! I slept on the kitchen floor for about a week, and gradually crept away when he settled. Yep. It worked. 😊
Surviving the first night of puppy 😂
Yeah man. Much love. Def. Appreciate this info.
This guy is a real life dogggggg
Our new Labrador is 7 weeks and 3 days old. He is totally comfortable in his crate, the issue is the moment we walk away he will scream and cry until we come back. We waited an hour, it never stopped. Took him out, got him tired again, bathroom breaks, put him back in, screaming again! Save me 😂
Do they cry in the first car ride home because theyre sad theyre leaving their family?
Hey, thanks for the tips, I got 2 days ago a 10 months old female corgi. She hasn’t been trained. What would you suggest? I have the crate but not using it as much, do you have a video or a guide for this situation? She also did pee inside. We’re taking her outside more than 3 times a day. Please help us
I’ve had my cocker spaniel pup for a week . I used the tough love approach . It works he sleeps downstairs in his crate with no fuss…..for now 😂
I love that you say if your puppy has an accident, clean it up and acknowledge that it is your fault. Correct, sir.
What if the puppy doesn’t want to eat or drink? First day maybe took a bite or two of her food. Not interested in the food, so we can’t reward her?
I think I'm going to be a regular on this channel. Someone just handed me a puppy and said he was abandoned in a Popeye's and gave me some cash and then left. I'm over like… ok, your name is Matthias and I love you my beautiful boy and oh God what do I do? lol
I did the "softy..softy approach" day one with my 2 month old Bully, thank Christ he never cried in the crate, but I started him out in my room a couple of nights, then to the entry way, then in the hallway, now I have him down the hall where he can't see me at night. It worked, no barking or crying at night, he sleeps well.
Why do I always get the puppy blues and want to cry after getting a puppy
Such a great information thanks ❤
😂 Busted a gut when the “Quick Tips” banners popped up! Great video once again. 🇨🇦👍🏼
Wheb theyre 8 weeks old. During the night im guessing we are getting up to take them out for Ps & Ps?
Thanks Mmmmmate, I'm looking forward to get a English Terrier (those shark.heads) and came up yo your videos… simply awesome! Thanks again.
And yeeeeee, I love your accent, where R U from?
🥂
Hey Will, our 10 week old puppy golden retriever is being crate trained, what about if they are crying at 3am because need the toilet?
Are we contradicting what we’re teaching them by ignoring them and then they poop or pee in the crate?
What should I do while the puppy cant leave home yet? It doenst have all the vaccines yet
we're flying our puppy home
I am not being an a-hole. I just got a golden puppy😂. I actually want to understand. Can someone explain to me what the crates are for? I've had dogs my whole life, and we never had crates for anything, even transport. We did have Labs, who were brilliant, so maybe that is why? Idk I'd like to understand it.
What do I do if when I feed the dog she goes and just nipples takes two or three little pieces and then goes back and forth, but she won’t finish the food? I am struggling with this she is about to be 18 weeks old and we just picked her up two days ago
Thank f***, someone who doesn’t take an hour to make one ststememt.
Always left my 3 goldens alone 1st night , all lived long happy lives
The soft approach do you take them out for a wee?
I’m picking up my 8 week puppy tomorrow. A girl Schnoodle. Can I really expect her to not a have a potty break in middle of the night?
I don’t have space for a crate is it ok not to do this I live in a small flat
You always help train my puppy .
Since I'm starting off with a 48" crate with a divider and can't move it around my townhouse easily, I have a small air mattress that I will sleep on in the living room for the first few nights. I plan to move it farther away towards the stairs each night. I hope this works for my Rottweiler pup just as well. 🤞🤞
my lil pup is only just warming upto me, he won't leave my side atm as we're waiting for the crate to come, but he won't take much food and won't drink any water or anything do you think this is just due to him being nervous as it's his first day? I'm just abit worried about how much he's drinking and eating, he did one accident inside but he did 3 pees outside
do you take them out to pee at night too? how often? when do they sleep through the night?
Pick my puppy 4 days from now. Im thinking of doing crate down stairs and not ignoring the cries but to only take him out to go toilet then bed
This is a great video! I'm doing most of these things with my 8 week old Bernadoodle, so a lot of this was reassurance that I'm doing it right. It did, however, highlight for me a couple of areas I need to do better at! One being taking her out every hour, on the hour, and the other being utilizing feeding time as a training tool. Will start those both tomorrow, when we wake up! Thanks, Will!
Regarding walking the puppy outside immediately what about parvovirus..
thank you!
wonderful tips+ sub from me
Just got mine today, shes super smart, nailed the name , sit comand ant toilet place in the first 10hours, wich 3 of them she was sleeping. she already know that the plastic sheet is her toilet 😁
This guy is legend always gives good advice 👊👊👊
Had our new staff pup 10 weeks old but we have watched your videos and still won’t stop biting I am at my wits end
Currently doing the tough love approach. I got my Puppy yesterday and stayed with her in the living room the 1st night. I made sure to put a sign on my door to inform my neighbors that she will be making noise and to bare with me till she learns to stop. Today I personally went to my neighbor to remind them and ask if they can hear anything. They told me no so that's a great sign that my building has some good sound proofing. 👌🏿 🎉
You have a lot of self control. I couldn’t even think straight with 2 puppies running around me!
Excellent video, thanks (and hello from France from a soon to be Lab owner)
During the day are we supposed to keep the crate in an area where we are so she can socialize ?
