This was a good movie the space station who ever thought of that? I wonder why nobody recreated the first Alien. Because it happens in pace. I was so happy just to see a head hugher, then the zero G acid scene brilliant. But the big boy at the end was icing on the cake. That mf'r grew in seconds to full adult.

The black goo originated from Xenomorphs not Engineers,
Not trying to nit pick, but this is actually incorrect. The offspring looks like an engineer because humans share DNA with the engineers. Which is what the mutagen interacts with on a cellular level. You could say the mutagen woke up dormant engineer DNA in the offspring.
I'm happy for the guy that got this role simply because he was insanely tall and didn't really have to do much to qualify other than that. Easy pay day.

Hear me out…The DNA from the engineer head found by the crew of Prometheus was linked to human DNA. The pathogen could be a result of trying and failing to recreate the life force (golden goo) they used to create life on earth in the first scene of Prometheus.
The version of offspring in Romulus resembles the Engineers, so is it possible that they are descendants of humans who have tried to do the same before them and not the other way around?
Since the way she was implanted was way different, maybe the engineers were created by someone else, using humans as incubators or something.

Not quite it's a lot more simpler than that, engineers created humans so we're their children so the black goo awoke those dna markers inside the baby. But because it was black goo and not an engineer that directly breeded with the girl it came out distorted and mutated.
