To anyone who is still doing this or is new Do not face your camera at Hyrule Castle. The fragment can fall in a river on on the castle itself which will make it disappear
No need to wait for a full moon, stop spreading false information..the star fragment falls on every single night.
For wii U: don't need to be full moon;
Don't need save/ reload;
All nights during my gameplay, after 20:40, I went to the top of dueling peaks, and wait to star fall.
Even after killing 100 golden lynels only dropped 8 star pieces -_-

Just FYI: The process in this video is wrong / bad, even for the date it was published.
1. Stars apear every night.
2. Stars disappear at 0500 every morning.
3. If you 'sleep' from night to night, the star will not disappear, as the game skipped the 0500 game time trigger.
4. The 0500 game time trigger must ocurr in order to have a new star spawn. (ie. If you collect a star at 0200, go back to a fire and sleep till 9pm, a new star will not appear, as you skipped the 0500 time trigger.)
5. The best way I have found to spawn stars, considering the above is:
a. Go to Shee mountain.
b. Create a fire.
c. Sleep until 'noon'.
d. Re-light the fire and sleep until night.
e. Wait for star to appear.
f. Mark star landing and retrieve star.
g. Return to Shee mountain.
h. Repeat steps 'b' through 'g'
edit: I find using the full Radiant Gear set with 2 star upgrade "Disguise" bonus to be very useful, as the pop-up skeletons wont attack you on your way to collect the star, or when going back to Shee mountain. Add a flame weapon, and you don't have to worry about the cold either.
(Flame spear is ok, but Flame sword is better, as it doesn't cover as much of the screen as the flame spear.)
No game saving, game exiting, or game reloading is require.
If anyone knows of an easier way to collect star fragments; please post it. Collecting stars, even with my above method, is a pain.

It doesnt have to be a full moon, just night time. I just did this and the moon wasnt full

Question, do you have to exit the game and re-enter it every time or can you just reload your save from the pause screen?
I like how he does these tutorials with the whole no talking thing. Not that talking is bad: it just feels more right with this game, how in the game itself it's more about learning by doing or watching, than being told what to do.
