I think there are many different races of alien life but I really think your opinion in the grey aliens are spot on after considering the danger of space travel in any form.
just because humans need water etc. doesnt mean other life forms do. "greys" are A.I. . The craft are not what are "interdimensional" , the humanoids are able to manipulate matter(?)
I really like that theory robots would not need any resources in lengthy space travel.
