What do you mean art style Sonic has always brilliantly pulled off realistic settings like Sonic adventure 1 and 2 putting him in more cartoony environments isn't bad but once that's the only thing Sonic is around it's kind of boring, the story of Sonic is all about mixing cartoony and realistic aspects just like dragon Ball z
The reviewer laments feeling like progress is constantly blocked by needing to find more of something, but I never once felt like I was blocked in any way. I was exploring a ton, doing the various runs of ramps and rails, taking on every enemy I could, playing cyberspace levels (trying to get as many goals as I could), and always had what I needed when I ran into a trapped character or "locked" objective (like a chaos emerald). I think this reviewer was just trying to plow through the game rather than actually enjoy what the islands had to offer.
Despite the story feeling noticeably padded by collecting, ive had so much damn fun with this game
They could not have made that overworld look any LESS appealing. Dull colors? That is not what sonic is about. Ever.
I’ll definitely wait for a deep sale but the fact that I’m actually interested in a 3d sonic game is a win for sega
I got sonic frontiers switch version physical copy and i have my sonic wearing sonic adventure shoes.
I will say that if we never get a proper “Sonic Adventure 3” title that this is the closest we will get to that with Sonic Frontiers.
I think objectively as far as pure gameplay and world and level design, it's actually better than any 3D Sonic game has ever been
I love it.
Fair review, good stuff
