Nice to see a proper review of this game for once, so many people think this is a terrible game because of Spoony's video.
But you must do Alien Resurrection on the PS1 sometime G.
7:50 this is old but you stoopid regardless. One of the amazing features of this game was the ai. And 90% of the time when an enemy was after you but wasn’t set on fire you could actually utilize the flames as a barricade. The ai would wait for the flames to slowly fade before proceeding to assault you making the process of taking on big dangerous bastards really easy. Of course there was the issue with some ai being either bugged or too smart where they’d sometimes just ignore the fire and walk through it charging at you despite taking flame damage themselves or they’d simply retreat, hide in a corner, and the second the flames dimmed they’d charge back at you. For a 2 decade old game the ai was very much ahead of its time especially for an old gen 2 console. The only thing that personally bothered me was the fact that corpses of enemies would disappear as with most gen 2 console games though it’s clear they had that feature to prevent the game from developing frame rate issues considering the large quantities of enemies you had to kill.
I can’t wait for the remaster of this game. It was a favorite of mine in the PS2 era
9:46 isn’t John Carpenter still alive?
Watching in 2024. John Carpenter STILL alive.
Just found out about the remastered version being released, at the time of this comment. This video is now even more poignant, upon discovering the remaster release soon.
Well what a timely recommendation, now that the game get's a remaster
The concept was there, ahead of its time. Glad there’s a proper remake in development.
What do you think of the upcoming remake by Nightdive?
Hi gman what’s your thoughts on the thing remastered ?
Brilliant game!
With Night Dive working on the remaster, hopefully they can include a crosshair that changes color when you damage enemies if you choose free targeting, take squad mates with you for boss fights, have your squad mates turn into the Thing at random like the original developers intended, and get Kurt Russell back to voice R.J. MacCready.
Slough, gman
Remake on the way. Looking good never played this.
It'll fight if it has to, but it's vulnerable out in the open. If it takes us over, then it has no more enemies, nobody left to kill it. And then it's won
We're getting a remaster from NightDive Studios!!!!
Hey Gman, Did you hear about the Remaster?
Nightdive remastered… is real
