I believe aliens are more likely studying us rather than guiding our progress through history… and that's a huge distinction. In fact, any alien intelligence would take a broader interest in our planet as a whole and not just the goings-on of the species tasked with it's stewardship. The hypothesis put forward in the movie "The Day the Earth Stood Still" is a chilling reminder of the logic that best suits the future of humanity… "If the Earth dies, humans die, If humans die the Earth survives."

(For School) This video falls into some of the common diagnostic features of pseudoarchaeology. One being the burden of proof. In this video they talk about an alien referred to by the name “J-Rod”, and there was no real picture of this alien. A photo of this alien could count as evidence that it was really there. Since it was so long ago, there could've been a document recording this but there wasn't that either. This is a burden of proof because it isn’t giving all the evidence to prove that this alien was real and actually documented. Another one is causation vs. correlation. The people in this video say that since they met J-Rod and he showed them how to work with technology better, that they “developed some of the military's greatest innovations.” We don’t know for sure that this alien was real due to lack of evidence, so we don’t know that this is what caused their new innovations. Lastly, appeal to authority. This feature can explain why a lot of people will believe this video with no second guessing. This video is from the history channel with 13.9 Million subscribers, and the people in this video are historians. Due to the popularity and the position these people hold, it is easier to believe them. Overall, this video may hold some facts, but it isn’t using the scientific method to support the claims they made.
Why would we celebrate them in the past but hide everything now? And then it’s up on Disney owned channel years later?
