That pocket was always there lol
I know this video is old, but it gains a lot of relevance in recent times: regarding detail #5, you forgot to mention that the spiked ball and chain is also a reference to one of Bowser's final obtainable weapons in SNES Mario RPG as well as in the Switch remake!
where
Luigi being separate from Mario and being at Bowser's castle is a reminisent of Yoshi Island plot
Prediction: Mario gets the Super Star power up and beats Giga Bowser
3:55 This isn't the first time one of the Mario bros. has been seen with laces! In Luigi's Mansion, Luigi actually can be seen wearing boots with laces on them!
2:40 kindgom
#Mariomovie
Looygi bros,se sei italiano sei proprio un grande!Continua così!
Other details:
There are both Blue Shell Koopas (Mario Kart) and a Yellow Shell Koopa (a likely reference to the KP Koopas from TTYD)
Biddybuds can be seen in the bottom right corner of the aerial shot of Mario in the mushroom forest.
The Koopas came armed with Bullet Bull canons, but there doesn't seem to be any Goombas. Yet, at least.
The Red Toad may or may not actually be Captain Toad. He lacks the head lamp and explorer's outfit, but he might just get it later on.
Bowser's floating island fortress seems to be designed with platforming in mind. When they get to it, it's possible that Mario and friends can either tackle the flat but dangerous front yard and then up the front of the volcano, which has buildings and bridges on it, or take a shortcut up the steeper back with the turrets. Either way, they may have to get into the volcano from the top.
Bowser, instead of a regular flame thrower, has a powerful fire laser that is similar to the one he has as Fury Bowser.
The rounded hills in the Mushroom Kingdom are a mainstay of the series' aesthetics, especially in the 2D games.
It isn't just one butterfly, he seems to attract a whole flock of them, which is what happens if you stand still long enough in 64 outside of Peach's castle.
In fact, the whole world seems to be platforming oriented. Toad Town not only surrounds, but also covers the giant hill Peach's castle is on, and the poster than came out before the trailer did shows that it's also covered in pipes, blocks and other typical platforming elements common to the games. Traveling the mushroom forests also might be most efficient by jumping on the tops of them rather than going around their stalks on the ground. If Mario starts off not having his remarkable athleticism, he will have to quickly develop it if he wants to get around efficiently.
The Dry Bones don't just have the ability to climb trees (yikes!), they can also separate into their individual bones and continue moving, with their heads continuing to pursue Luigi even when they trip and fall (double yikes!).
The penguins seem pretty small here. While they can be around Mario's size, the adults are typically shown to be almost as big as Bowser himself in many of the games. The ones we see here are clearly adults, so they were probably made small to seem more helpless. It would be fun if it turns out they do have a big penguin though, who challenges Bowser to a physical fight.
the 18 ones was the most coolest lol
Meanwhile, the penguins that traveled through time are ignored
I thought Toad and Captain Toad were separate people? Is the movie blending them into one character?
I think the brothers will gain their jumping abilities and powers as they stay in the mushroom kingdom and grow into heroes. Luigi can't seem to jump very well either. And it is their first time in the world
2:30 what is the song, and which Mario game?
I NEVER KNEW THE MARIO MOVIE WOULD HAVE SUCH AMAZING DETAILS!!!!!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Really hope we get a Luigi’s Mansion movie one day
“in the near future we could be able to freely explore the Mushroom Kingdom!”
Super Mario Odyssey: AHEM What do i exist for?
Open world Mario games.. a man can dream.
Don’t forget the eye color of the dry bones. They’re usually yellow, but they’re red in the movie. Maybe it’s a reference to the bone fish?
0:53 Frozen Hams
An Open World Mushroom Kingdom.
We already had that on DS it was kinda open world but 2D only.
Also Super Mario Odyssey is pretty Open World as well.
A full open world of the mario universe would be awesome though and it'll be 3D.
when is this movie coming out? one trailer says april 23, another march 30, another just “soon”
I love the V neck shirt collar so much! Gives his suit more personality. 🥰
Forgot to mention, unless didn't know, that the jingle when Mario first comes out 9f the pipe comes from the Super Mario Bros Super Show's intro music.
