Not gonna lie: this looks neat, but mostly it makes me want to contact Kris Burm so he can revisit TAMSK. He retired that GIPF game because the sand timers were too inconsistent; that must be fixed now given Kites' very specific timings, right? Did you test the timers to see how close they were to the "official" numbers?

Sand timers are such a tricky component to use right in my experience. In more complex games it’s easy to forget and in light games its easier to disengage from the prime activity and focus on the timer (say something like Pictionary). This looks like it solves some of that trickiness by making the game simple but purely interacting with the timer. I wonder what effect an app would have?
