Animal cruelty here is a felony (for dogs; still a misdemeanor for cats. Don’t get me started…😡), but I wish there were some sort of registry for convicted abusers that would go out to all shelters, vets, pet stores and breeders and also freely accessible online with a pic of their ID. If they attempt to adopt/buy a pet, the police are called and it is reported to their probation/parole officer.
And if they manage to get around the law, and manage to obtain a pet from unknowing parties, unethical breeders or taking in a stray, eg, and somebody reports you for having a pet, you go to jail. Period. Any adult who has ever been deliberately cruel to an animal should forfeit their rights to ever having a pet again.
Nobody deserves to have their eyes removed.
Living through such a horrible act of evil is amazing. Thank you for helping her. ❤❤❤❤
