Seems like dude is vastly overestimating the priors for aliens actually being here on Earth. Even if we all agree it’s likely for some planets to develop life, we also have to figure out how many will develop sapience, how many will get to the point where we are now, and not only how many would have surpassed us, but if a) it’s possible to overcome the physical limitations of interstellar travel but also how likely it is that a civilization did so long enough before we did that they would have been able to find us. Extraterrestrial visitation belief very much seems to be a modern belief in the Fair Folk.
I like Avi Loeb, I like his efforts to detect UAP's, but I'm completely unconvinced by his narrow view of potential extraterrestrials. He's doing a lot of dancing around the points to avoid admitting that he may not be entirely correct
The big 'I wonder' for me, stems from past civilisations and if you know anything about ancient eygpt, then you can gain an awareness of a higher intelligence leaving its footprints. So that being said, what if they had space fairing abilities with AI and its still doing its thing but with us having amnesia have no idea where we fit in all this. Speculation overload 😅

I think anyone listening to this channel is of the same attitude, but to hear a podcast with someone outthinking avi at his own game was so entertaining. As well as insightful.
The human cultural problem was an interesting discussion, also the secrecy aspect. It seems that these ethical failings are one of the biggest issues for our species.
It's unlikely that the visitors would interfere with the will of our governments and impose their presence on our culture. The evidence is that there's been a deliberate administrative decision to hide the knowledge of an alien presence. They have already contacted governments. There are also many thousands of contactees and, as mentioned, it's a cultural characteristic that the information is ignored. Good that at the end some of these issues were discussed seriously.
A couple of obvious points. Humans can modify dna so darwinian selection is the wrong arena. Mental ideals would tend to govern body characteristics in the long term.
Secondly, grabbing matter and expanding numbers aren't particularly useful in the face of advanced science. It's more likely to be diversity – observing different environments and understanding species that can manipulate the physical world mentally, such as creating space time bubbles as the craft seem to do.
We don't have access to what evolution can do in systems over 10 billion years. So the basic premises of the Fermi Paradox aren't correct. Our science is in its infancy and refuses to look at a lot of promising avenues.
Would it help official UFO research if a specific type of UFO were filmed over a thousand times worldwide over a span of 20 years by independent sources?
