Happy Training!
This was really great. I’ll be trying with my puppy today. Thanks for the simple instructions, I don’t feel like it’ll be overly complicated.
Good subject to address! Our pup is a very energetic 9 month Jack Russell/ Chihuahua mix that is quite demanding. We were advised when we got her that she would need at least 2 hours of vigorous activity every day, so we scheduled morning and evening play sessions and walks and added more as the dog wanted more attention. Rather than making sure she was confident we have now realized that we spoiled her with too much pup-centered activity. Parvo was a restricted in playing in the yard and meeting other dogs until she was almost 4 months. We don't have many places to go to socialize her but have worked very hard and consistently to get her to behave, without success. She pulls constantly on the leash now and seems to love rebellious behavior. She really is triggered easily into uncontrollable barking if anyone is near us or our house, barking in the back yard at any tiny sound the neighbors make. If we are right with her, she is beginning to control her bark slightly to the "Quiet" command but we have to be relentlessly consistent and she still gets out of control about 60% of the time. I'm in my 80's and I've never had a dog do this. It's very wearing, as dearly as we love her.
Love the channel❤
Thank you for this😭. Our first dog is not interested in everything and very calm. The hardest part in training him is finding different treats and toys every week. Our second dog, however, is interested in everything and will not pay attention to the same thing for longer than 5 seconds. I do my best to train them since there’s a lot of misinformation about their breed (american bully and pitbull) and they are my first dogs. The first dog is very well-behaved now but the 2nd is only behaved when asleep.
Just a reminder, be careful that the long leash can't catch on anything. You did, of course, with a smooth tree.
Thanks for a great exercise! I have a high-drive one-year-old rescue.
Not my puppy. She never tires.
Im afraid i don t have that much energy to tug,run backwards or even act that perky!. I need the senior training..( ;
aaand you addressed Hyperactivity
HOWWWWW

Tan pronto como mi perro esté vacunado estaré todo el día en el parque jugando a esto porque es super activo.
Nice video ty
Our girl Gracie she’s almost 6 months super dang hyper as in zoomies in the yard for a hour hyper. Including jumping up and off the trampoline and skateboarding. Oh she’s also an Olde English Bulldog.
Awesome channel and spot on!
My Miller has been doing tug of war with me all day . Lol 😊😂😂 he is a energizer bunny. No matter how long I play and how much we play he just keep running.
What do you do when your puppy doesn't want food ??
What if u live in an environment where u can’t escape distractions? 😢 what doI do? 😩
You also have to be careful with only associating yourself with playing. You need to make sure your puppy has boundaries.
My 4 mo old aussie doodles is obsessed with tug of war and fetch, i messed up not using seperate toys but have now done this. She growls like MAD at tug of war, i read its normal sign of loving playing with me doing it. She will literally put tug toy in my hand with a short lets play growl and off we go. I was nervous her growling when playing was aggresive but its not.
I love your voice.
how many minutes should you do this a day ?
Can that rug toy be used on a small chihuahua?
Thanks so much for all y’all do and all of the info you provide to the general public. Your insight is super helpful and much appreciated!
What if he’s jumping and biting while he’s doing this exercise?
I am BAFFLED as to how this puppy is so focused. My 11 week Portuguese Water Dog gets OBSESSED with the ground. No matter what toy or treat I try and use as incentive, he only wants to eat the ground. Every leaf, rock, acorn, multichannel etc… I am struggling so much outside as nothing seems to be more valuable than the ground. 😥
I played this game with my pup and she now tries to tug our pants whenever she demand play time and attention. How do I tell her no?
I love your boing sound when the puppy jumps 😍
Why is he not biting your hands and fingers ?
Puppies are so cute. I subscribed. I'll come often. Come watch my dog's Mango Cherry Vlog.
Hi! I have a new 8 week old beagle/mini aussie and am looking for some advice! 🙋♀What should I do if I put her in her crate, she sees me, whines, I correct her with a "quiet" so she becomes calm and quiet but when I praise her "good quiet" after 30 seconds of being quiet she almost gets excited that I'm praising her and starts whining/barking all over again? 😕
How long is this toy, I can't find it in the shop..?
How long should a leash for a Labrador Retriever puppy should be like here and how long a home leash?
Is the color important, which colors can they see (I heard, dogs can see just 3 colors and then the rest black, grey, white)?
I'd love to see more videos with small breed puppies! We said goodbye our 12 year old GSD this year and I'm getting a small breed puppy for the first time since I was in first grade. I'd love to see if there are any more differences in training them vs larger breeds that wasn't mentioned in your last small breed video 🙂
My female pup can do this for hours without getting tired. Nutcase she is 😅❤️
How you gonna correct a puppy/dog if they don't make mistakes?
🤣🤣🤣
Im getting a new German shepherd puppy just after Christmas, he will be 8 weeks old. My work schedule is not normal. I leave at 4:45 am but after that I’m pretty flexible. I can come home every 2 or 3 hours. But I usually go to bed around 7-8 pm I’m usually up for good by 2 am . Any suggestions on potty training ?
A tip that worked great for me (but take it with a big pinch of salt) is getting a second puppy. The first one was smart, obedient and loving, but he was extremely intense. He became completely bonkers around other dogs and was way too demanding of attention.
We tried almost everything until my dad told me how the second puppy changed their dog (similar situation). So we took the chance and it worked wonders. The first one is still intense, but he's much happier and calm, he even smiles a lot more now. He wasn't demanding for lack of training or attention, he was just lonely.
BUT, and it's a big but, do your homework and ask around before you do that. A second puppy requires work. I found that it's harder to find time to train them and the first one is a bit less obedient (more distracted), the little one is smaller (a small dachshund) than the first (a border collie) so we have to beware they don't hurt each other.
It's not a decision to take lightly and you have to KNOW how your puppy feels before getting a second one. Now, if you did all the work and decide to get one, it's a great way for them to be accompanied when you leave them alone or when you can't be with them, and they have someone to play and be dogs with.
I was wondering why your not supose to shake the rope back and forth when you play tug? We just got an eight week old mini Australian Shepherd and I’ve been watching your videos for the last three weeks straight so I can train her thank you so much for all your content!
What do you do when your pup jumps up and bites your hand off.
I’ve noticed that if I hype my pup up (he’s 3 months old) he goes straight for my ankles and starts biting and play growling HARD, if I try stop him he starts jumping and nipping and barking, if I just stay still and softly say “no” he eventually stops, but it hurts so much… will he eventually grow out of it? Or should I worry?
where would I adopt a dog from a breeder? im currently in Ontario
Any modification ideas for people with bad knees that can’t run??
I don’t like training with treats all the time.
Using my pup's fav toys for playing together has become so effective for the both of us.She is +10 weeks old and I get all her attention as soon as I say "wanna play?"
and the most sweet thing is that her fav toys are actually handmade by me 🥺❤️ and more sweet: one of them is a plushie that I made with parts of the fav plushie of my old dog, who is now in heaven ✨
