The only good thing about this game is the graphics which are great. Combat and mechanics are garbage. I finished it and was grossly underwhelmed
Now that I understand how to properly play the game on the second play through, I like the game even more now.
It’s a 6/10 for me
It just doesn’t feel like a $70/$60 game
For $40? Sure. But as it currently stands? It’s over priced.
My biggest gripe is that with games like these, it has to have replay value and Callisto just doesn’t have any unfortunately.
"they have a plan, they have a season pass" – that ain't it chief. as long as they insist on releaseing unfinished games people should continue to give them 0s. it's only fair
Game was disappointing in nearly every metric except graphics and audio. There was roughly 5 different guns (2 of which are clones of each other), 4 different enemies, and the same exact boss that you had to fight 4 different times. There was way too much wall shimmying and vent crawling which I get is there to hide loading zones but it messed with the pacing too much and not enough gunplay because the enemies are too tanky so you end up just beating them with a baton over and over and over again to the point where it was like beating a dead horse. Level design is as linear as can be from the very beginning to the very end and it had maybe 3 max splitting paths that I could remember. I beat the game and immediately uninstalled. YES it was like Dead Space but there was too much emphasis on "interactive cinematics" and not enough on gameplay. For that reason, game deserves anywhere from a 5-6/10.
6 hours of gameplay!? Im at the colony at the Alpha and I’ve been playing for 8 hours. Almost all the bad reviews ive seen formthe game are some of the stupidest reviews ive ever seen. They wanted a Dead Space clone and are mad its not, and they dont like that the game is actually hard, it’s supposed to be. How else are you gonna see al the cool death animations? Good lord some people are just too stupid for this world.
Everyone hated The Evil Within also but that game smashed a$$ in a good way. Loved it !
I love it! Does it live up to all of the hype? Maybe not but it's not a bad game at all. Love the atmosphere, graphics, sound design and I actually enjoy the combat. I always feel vulnerable…like you should in a survival horror game. No crashing issues wither since I'm on the PS5.
Buy it when it’s 75% off. Story is bland predictable, but the graphics are amazing. 5.5/10
The game may have its problems but its not a 0 or a 2 its more like a 7. Its not trying to be dead space it only takes inpirations from it ppl need to stop conparing it thats soo annoying. Thats like comparing streets of rage to double dragon really?
Wtf are these people talking about. The game's not bad at all. It's definitely flawed and could've used a few more months in the oven to hammer out some of the jank. But the game is not bad at all. Game needs an NG+, chapter select, and alternative control scheme. I played on PS5, so I had zero issues.
Game companies stop playing favorites.
He'll nah Sony help on motion capture you illuminati beliver 🤣🤣🤣
Not a bad game, just not fleshed out. The ending half of the game is where it starts to lose its appeal. Felt rushed and clichéd. Hope it gets patched and the sequel expands on the foundation.
I would have given the game a 6.5 out of 10 IF THE GAME WORKED on my PC. It is fair in my opinion to give 0 to a game that DOES NOT WORK when you get it home. It is dreadful practice which publishers are trying to NORMALISE: “Buy it now and it will work . . . eventually . . .” NOT ACCEPTABLE.
I saw possibilities for being more original and creative with the game, but they were missed opportunities. Like many of the big reviewers, I hope they make a sequel that has a better story and script, with fewer contrivances for why the lead character has to find himself alone again for the gameplay. It’s not that hard to put original, witty speech into character’s mouths either. That’s up to the writers, who’s job is to make us care about the characters and want to know what’s going to happen next in the story. That requires good PLOTTING which this game had very little of.
The world building was good, the sound design really should be getting awards, and who didn’t love all of the performances from all of the cast? They can all hold their heads up high. As can those art directors who lit and crafted this masterfully creepy looking cliché vehicle.
But the rinse and repeat, “jump scares,” (relentless annoyances) and the rinse and repeat, un-intuitive fighting mechanics, which you have to fight harder than the phages (or fages? or whatever the hell they’re called) was a huge disappointment to me. Only compounded by being unable to play through the game-breaking bugs on my PC and taking the time to go to a friend’s actual location (I hate going out at all) to play it on his PS5 (which I’m half convinced he fellated a scalper for, but that’s another story) only to be so underwhelmed by a game which had SUCH potential and clearly had EVERYTHING NECESSARY for a great experience, if only the mechanics had been dynamic and the script more appealing to the adults in the room . . .
Ah well . . . Still, I enjoyed your video and, like you, I hope that these wildly skewed scores (which don’t even match the comments next to them!) are not representative of . . . well, anything? . . . ✌️
Keep shilling. Your credibility is zero. Most users disliked it. I guess they were not paid shills like you. The sales figures speak volumes. People have ceased to buy this junk: bad game play: dodge dove hold down stick and attack attack.
Boring 6 hours.
Shills like you make us all laugh.
Ahaha, this is definitely a treat to tackle some of these goofy reviews. Been doing that on Steam, and I've had a good laugh reading some of them.
Good for a single play and a straight up game…But the gameplay was repetitive and left me disappointed in the end. Hoping the DLC and maybe a sequel fix the length and gameplay gripes. 7/10
Sony was like to Microsoft…payback bitches for assassin's creed valhalla
Personally I feel like the game is a 6/10 atm, it just kinda feels unfinished, but when their roadmap is complete who knows.
Performance issues aside, the game just feels like a bunch of ideas that aren't fully developed yet, maybe the fighting system will be deeper in the sequel, maybe the GRP will have more of an environmental puzzle approach, maybe we'll have more enemy types to make us change how we approach them, just hope the franchise doesn't die before then.
I give it a 5.
Looks great, performance is poor, story was “fine” , only worth getting if on sale. Save money for dead space
I thoroughly enjoyed this game, I hope they don't scrap the next one simply because it's a trend to throw shade at the game during its 1st week…
This game has some good elements but also some very bad elements. Overall for me it balances out to a 6 or 7.
People jumping on the bandwagon, they see some bad press and in their mind the game is bad and they need to share their worthless opinion
Some very literate and articulated negative reviews we have being made on Metacritic. 🤣
This game isn't even scary whatsoever, it doesn't have the same familiar feeling as Dead Space, that's why people distanced themselves from the title.
I played it on PS5. Beat the game. It was an absolute slog. The game sucks. No, I don't care who liked it. It was garbage. Save the git gud fairy shit. I did just fine. It was just a miserable trash feat. Terrible combat, trash weapons, and annoying inventory management. No, Dead Space did not have inventory management like this.
Game is flawed but it isn't bad at all. 8/10
I really liked this game, seriously, and i am glad they took the dead space formula and kind of evolved it. I think on the next game they should invest maybe on creating more bosses but overall it was an very fun experience
I feel like people review these bad because they had a hard time. Im on pc and it runs great!
