My 18 year old cat’s favorite thing in the world is drinking milk 😭 We give her a tiny sip from the spoon every morning as a treat
i dont even bathe my cat, i've noticed she doesn't enjoy it, and honestly doesnt need it, she is 100% indoors. I leave her to be as she is, i would never declaw…im also hesitant to nurture her..but we'll see about that
I feel like a terrible owner. 😢
Grew up on farm . Fed cats milk every day…
i do punish my cat with forced interactions hahah. when he scratches my new chair i tried redirecting him to the scratcher each time and giving him a treat when he scratched it instead, didnt work. so each time he scratches the chair i grab him and start hugging/squishing him and kissing him, he hates that and it did the trick. i think he associates scratching the chair with squishes now.
My 4 year old cat isn’t a people cat, he’s not really fond of me and jumps and every noise and movement, but when he was a kitten, he was a nightmare, he would jump on me with claws and play very rough (it never even entered my mind about declawing him). Now he’s older, he likes his space and I give him that, now and again he will come for a scratch (only his head and neck though, anywhere else and I will be clawed) and I respect his boundaries. I also have a new kitten (which he’s not yet entirely fond of 😆) and this kitten is the polar opposite! LOVES being touched all over, and when playing, he’s sooo gentle, (as gentle as a kitten can be lol). My point is, like humans, cats are also very different to each other. And we need to respect their boundaries whether it’s a quick pet to say “hello” and that’s it, or wether your cat doesn’t leave you alone and craves your attention. Listen to the human in the video. He knows his stuff.
I've taught my cats to take treats directly with the mouth instead of using their claws (ouch). Whenever they used their claws, I would let them have the treat ofc, but I wouldn't say anything. It's when they used their mouths that I would say good boy or good girl. Slowly they learnt that using the mouth is better. Then I did the same with the scratching. When the scratching happened on furnitures, I would ignore it. When it happened on a scratching pole, I would reward it with good girl or good boy. They scrath way more on the scratching poles now. They still do it on furnitures sometimes, but I believe that's because they need more scratching spots around the house, which I'm working on 🙂
My cat loves the water bottle. When he purring when he gets wet. But he gets bushing
thank you🙂
IN MY EXPERIENCE I FIND CAT WANTS TO FREELY MOVE AROUND EAT EGGS DRINK MILK ETC AND DASHES HIS TAIL CONSTANTLY ROUNDG HIS OWNER.
HE DOESNT LIKE TO BE PETTED LIKE A DOG LIKES ESP A CAT NOT MY PET SNCE HE WAS BORN 1.5YEARS BACK AND ONLY 7 MONTHS ATTCHMNT.
EVERY CAT HAS MIN COMFORT LEVEL AND LUKE TO BE MOSTLY FREE AND NOT IN OUR ARMS.
CATS CANT BE TAKEN FOR GRANTWD LIKE DOGS
AS THEY EMULATE TIGERS
IN ALL MOVEMENTS
CATS ARENT DOGS.
THEY ARE INDEPNDENT AND SOMETIMES TAKING THEM IN OUR HOLD WL BE UNCOMFORT AND THEY GIVE A SMALL BITE TO GET RELIEVED.
THEY DONT LIKE TO SIT ON A SOFA
THEY CUDDLE IN A VELVET MAT BY DOORSIDE OR ON A BED ONLY
I always felt declawing was cruel.we had a wonderful female from a shelter that was declawed. She could hunt still but to watch her knitting was heartbreaking. Still glad we had her with us she passed not long after her person passed . She was 23 years old RIP ESMERALDA 😢
NEVER DECLAW YOUR CAT it’s like cutting off some of your finger it’s so cruel please don’t declaw your cat I’m begging you who’s with me? 👇 12:46
Back when my aunt got her cat she had him declawed. I am a vet tech who knows what type of issues develop and I was NOT HAPPY! but I honestly can say he’s a weird case…. He is a very old kitty now but he never bit, or had any issues.. he still to this day never had issues with his paws or behavioral issues. He does however still kneed on the furniture lol. It’s the 1st I’ve seen of it in my field but he’s just a sweet boy who worships my aunt and has little fur patches for toes! He was declawed during his neuter simply in the name of furniture and I still, regardless of how he is, would NEVER recommend!
Scratching post highly recommend
Declawing a cat shortens there life
Thank you Jackson, the message about de clawing is VERY important, it's akin to having your fingers cut off
Declawing is a thing??? That is horrific. Would you remove the wheels from your car so that it couldn't be stolen?
Excessive meowing. What can I do to stop it?
Me and fiance just adopted a 7 yr old declawed girl and she has been so great. I believe we got lucky with her she is loving and great
Doesn't say anything about farting in your cat's face YES!!! 😂
Thanks Jackson , l have enjoyed your series on cats on tv and also your 7 things to always do for your cat. We recently purchased a kitten Maine Coon and 90% of the time he’s an Angel but the other 10% he is like a mad kitten he bites and claws at us and everything around him. How long does it normally take for the biting and scratching stops. He’s very loving showing him their ways with cats.
Keep up the amazing work you have done to help so many people, keep them coming and stay safe and healthy my friend. Jeff
Don't skip the Vet? Vets are notoriously expensive..Not everybody can afford a visit. Easy for you to say. People do for their animals as they can afford, and love their pet just as much as you might love yours! You can barely afford to visit the doctor yourself now days. I love my cats, they're fine. God knows what I can and cannot do. What I can't accomplish, he covers..for me, and my cats.
Wat the…? Declaw a cat?!? ARE YOU NUTS?!? It's a cat! You do know it's a cat, right? It's a CAT! A CAT, I TELL YA!
Apart from declawing which is aberrant, on a different level I hate seeing cats and dogs being dressed up like toys. On a Facebook page, I saw a Rottie with its nails painted red. Of course, I said my bit and got so many nasty messages……
I drink raw milk and my cat loves it as well and her poops are fine. She actually lets it sit for a while so the cream comes to the top and she just drinks that😂
No jabs for my cat
I'm a low income individual and live in a area that has horribly irresponsible pet owners and abandon their cats. I'm trying to take care of 22 community cats all are fixed and vaccinated. I can't really afford to take them all to the vet every year. All I can do is make their lives as safe and good as possible. I don't know what else I can do
CATS ARE TOO MUCH LIKE WOMEN
My cat tried to mimic human to the point of trying to were our clothes. Mum got him clothes because of that and he would come running if you held it up but run away if he thought you were trying to take it off. That cat was not normal. He was afraid of birds but bully and steal the retired police dog two houses down. (The smaller the bird the more scared. We had to rescue him several times from small sparrows. Same with mice.)
first of all, your Number 2 is exactly what you do everyday. Secondly, that map (including UK) is false. We (UK) do not outlaw declawing. In fact, I don't know of any country that does. Absolute nonsense advice. It's like outlawing rehoofing horses.
