What’s something that you often have to tell your cat not to do? 🐈
How do you get a cat to be nice to a dog they are living with? Please help🙏
We recently got two kittens who had come from a triple litter living in an outside environment. They did not react to loud noises, clapping hands, elevated voice as most cats will. No was being learned, but very slowly and would not stop them from inappropriate behavior from a distance. I had to resort to a small squirt bottle. That did the trick. Now a little spurt of water haulted the behavior. After only a few corrections, just shaking the bottle and saying no got the message across.
I don't have 10 mins to say my cat 'No'.
We have 2 cats. The good one love bites and picks on my daughter constantly but curls in my bed and sleeps with me every night. The bad one ignores every one except me and harasses me constantly
My cat has intentional bad behaviors; for example, if his food dish is empty, he will go into my tools, get a particular Allen wrench, and put it in his food bowl. He picks this one because I use it all the time, and he knows it will piss me off, and I will come looking for it, causing me to notice the empty food bowl.
My cat would make a game out of "how fast can I run to and roll in the dirt before my human says no or picks me up". She looks at me beforehand like its a race and she's knows she isnt supposed to do it 😭
Cats do not make good pets; they're pretty thick if they don't even understand the simple word 'no' – you're unlikely to ever get them to understand anything else…. They just don't have the capacity.
When my cats do something that they shouldn't do, ie; scratching the walls and door jambs, I bark their name and a loud NO! They stop immediately.
Why do you speak in this way like you are in a hysterical hurry!and the terrible music!! WHY????
4:11 strictly indoors cats, if you don't have appliances that allow them to do so naturally.
Dont do this 😢😢😢😢
hiss at them. "Tsssss!"
there, i just saved you 10mins of what is probably all bull
I have the two best cats in the world. They’re messy eaters, and that is only a very slight annoyance.
The only thing that really bothers me is when my larger cat sometimes bites, and pins down his smaller brother.
He’s not really trying to hurt him. He really just seems like he’s trying to assert dominance, and there’s no reason he should.
He’s just kind of a butt sometimes.
how to say No: teach them the word No.
If I tell my cat "No" she tells me to contact her attorney
I haven’t seen this channel before. The concept of cat guardian instead of cat owner is really just perfect, as anyone who has cats and loves them knows! Lots of good information here, as well.
Thanks 👏😀
I watch the video too late. My cat already understands the word no😂😂
You all do realize that whatever you're telling your cat no for.. they do it when you're not around… 😉
What can one do with a cat who won't let one nurse or cuddle them? She is a Manx (bobtail type cat) young adult who was a stray that wandered in and decided to stay.
2:07 begins the answer to the question this video poses… get to the point 😊
I say no in an angry tone and smack their butt if they misbehave and they still come right back to me. They have to learn I am boss. That being said, I love them and talk softly to them except when they get on counters, and fight. I am 54 and have been around cats all of my life. Dogs too. They have to learn I am boss, then life goes easier. As I said, they all still communicate their happiness to me.
My Tuxie likes to sit on my work desk (WFH). He always picks the pile of papers I'm working on. I found that if I just pet him for a few seconds and then point to a different spot he will move to that spot. Not sure how I lucked out with this as i didn't really train him – he just does it – but I'll take the win. I always find redirection key – I had dogs my whole life and that was the best method of train and it seems to work with my cat as well.
ah I'm so proud of myself, young but raised my cat perfectly.
I have a cat, they cannot be controlled.
I'll tell you about spray bottles, if you spray something that somebody and gets near here.Guess what happens I said gets in your ear
My cats understand the evil eye… they have learned a lot and are really well behaved most of the time. I can't believe the relationship we have.
My cat scratches the furniture because she wants me to chase her. If I react it reinforces her game. 😢
Don’t forget to do 3 sets of 5 repetitions of telling no each week for strengthing your relation. 3:15
You are not on point and talk too much off topic stuff. You don't have to lecture us what cats are. Also, I have doubt that cats are "highly intelligent", we had many of them, and most were little foolish sociopathic narcissists (of course very cute ones).
I quite literally just rescued a kitten out of a tree last week. She's got a clean bill of health, so we're good on that front. I'm going through the trials and tribulations of making sure she has plenty of play but also making sure she's learning. She's about 8 to 10 weeks old from what we could figure. Almost immediately, she is so smart and so cute. She's also pretty well behaved All things considered. Still, we need to teach her that she can't do certain things. This is going to be a pain in the ass.
Take them on an outing to the Chinese restaurant down the street.
All this fufu BS. Animals understand the power dynamic above all else. Physically push it off the countertop if it isn't allowed there, push it away from your other cat with your foot if it wants to fight, and use a loud deep voice "NO!" with a physical display if it is doing something that is 'not ok'. They do the same to you so use the same language to them.
My cats love cuddles, pets, ear rubs, sleeping with me, and want to be in my company. It's not being mean it's just being a cat right back to them. If they want 4 pets but I give them 5 and they get upset, well, how is that different? OK, I get it, 4 pets. Got it!
Always have scratching posts before you bring your new kitty home. (And I love how he gives a loving way to discipline a kitty.) All I have to say is my Savannah’s name in a different tone, and she knows. We tried keeping ours off the counters, but we eventually gave in. They’re so persistent. 😂😂
We rescued a Grown Main Coon that neighbors abandoned when they moved. We fed her outside for months. She was outside all of last winter. It took us months to get her to come to us. She would run if you just looked at her. She was lost and alone. She has accepted us and has moved in with us. She is a bit destructive but we already love her. It is hard to say no.
Agree, I say no, and down often and remove them from the situation and they've seem to understand. Although they keep pushing the boundries, I'll make facial expressions as well so when they see me from a distance, they already know what's up lol.
Hello purring journal and everyone. Could you please give me some advice on how I can integrate a stray male (neutered) along with my 2 other stray cats I have. It’s 6 weeks since the neutering I’ve kept them separated however, the newbie is attacking the other at every opportunity outside of the house. I’ve had staffies for years but a few months after my girl passed I was chosen by Salem , at Easter this year another stray male came obviously he was scanned the owner wouldn’t respond, amongst all white cat was intent on being with me 7 times escaped from the scan angel who was very smitten with him but he not so much I gave in may this year he been snipped and chipped. I can’t find any information on integration of stray cats in the household thank you in advance
My cat's understand fine, they just tell me ""ha-ha I will do what I want to fat human". I love them with all my heart tho.
Chose better examples: the cat at 7:07 is not biting playfully, it just signals it doesn't want to be touched. And yet, the person continues, don't be surprised if you get bitten.
funny thing, I'm watching this with my cat in my lap
My highly intelligent animal tried to eat new litter today
