5:35 I love the shirt. Odd here with my situation. Our older cat loves our dog and the two rescue cats love the dog but none of the cats like each other yet. My poor dog just wants her little fur balls to get along
Such a great video , thank you we will heed your advice ❤❤❤❤
I took the towel from my new kitten's carrier and put it out for my resident to smell… she'd sniff then hiss then sniff and hiss some more. Lol I think it'll take some time
I didn’t introduce some right so that’s on me 😰
Thank you for this video very clear and helpful
🙏👍👏

I have a 4 year old cat named ELF, and he lives with me, my brother, and my dad.
And yesterday we found a white and black dotted little cat under our balcony, and it was sooo cute…..❤
We went down to see it and it was like an 1 year old girl kittie
We saw her a week ago too but when we went down she ran away
So now when we saw her my dad posted a story on faceboook whose cat is this, but no one responded😢
So we were bout to leave her but I started crying what if that poor thing is starving and it gets hit by a car, cuz when I gave her meat she ate it like she hadnt eaten in days…
But, another reason why I cried, is because u guys know that there are some cats that doesnt really like to be with other cats at first time, and they are hissing at eachother and they are feeling bad and jealous of the other cat
So it wasnt a good idea if we take it inside but we had to…
Our idea was to find her owner bc even she didnt learner where to pee she was a healthy and good looking kitty, so till when dont find her owner she lives with us for a while….
As first as always Elf(my boy cat) HISSED AND THE SMALL GIRLY AND THEY WERE REALLY AFRAID OF EACHOTHER….
I didnt wanted to make none of them jealous so when the little girl comed to me I petted her and after that I immediatly petted elf too
But Elf was the one who felt jealous and when I hugged him and told him were not gonna kick u out of the house he hissed at me and jumped out of my hands…😢
And right now, I am on our sofa writing tgis message and Pudding (the little cat, we named it to call her something) is being so kind to me and she is sleeping on me BUT WHEN I SEE ELF’S FACE WHAT SAYS “I hate u, I am jealous, owner how could u do this to me” I ALWAYS PUT PUDDING DOWN AND HUG ELF IMMEDIATLY BC I DONT WANT ELF TO FEEL BAD, BUT HE HISSES AT ME AND BITES ME…..
my cat was hissing at a baby calico cat that my cousin sent us but we gave I away after 2 days
guys someone please heelp, i got a new kitten and my cat hates her. She hisses and tried to scratch me and hissed when I tried to pick her up. shes never hissed at me or scratched me that bad and I'm worried she hates me now
Whelp! I did all the wrong things😂 my poor Patches😢
HELP ME PLEASE😩😢
I have a soon to be 2 year old female tortoiseshell named Penny, she’s the best!!
Found her in the desert her in AZ when she was approximately 4 months old (veterinarian guess)
3 weeks ago we found 2 little girls 😮same scenario as Penny😢.. theses girls are about 10 weeks old (veterinarian guess) … here’s the issue …Penny wants NOTHING to do with the girls! she hides in the corner in the closet… Won’t eat and won’t drink… i’ve done everything that you’re supposed to do but nothing seems to be working… The growling is so sad to me because she’s doing it to me 😢
I noticed this morning that she is throwing up a little bit, but there’s really nothing to throw up… and I also noticed a little bit of blood in her stool now😮
So of course I googled it and it states that it’s mostly stress related 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
A part of me feels that I should rehome these kittens☹️😔I don’t know what to do!!
I just want Penny to go back to the way she was💔 just thought she could use some friends because she is so loving and full of energy!!
Also… I forgot to mention, Charlie💚 Charlie is my 12 years old and he can honestly careless about the girls.. they do not bother him at all thankfully🙏🏼
Because I think about rehoming the girls does that make me awful 🥴???
I am also completely stressed out… I have not stopped crying in the last 48 hours😭😭
I need advice ASAP
I have a 4 month old and rescued a 6 week old yesterday. Both are females. It is stressful for us all. I thought with both being kittens, it would be easier. I was so wrong.
What do you do if you thought you did the method right but maybe you didn’t and now they are free roaming and for the most part they tolerate eachother but there are still fights , not just some swatting and hitting but fighting. Sometimes idk if they are playing . I think there is an issues because my first cat won’t play if the new cat is in the same room even if I put up a gate to separate them and pay one on one my new cat will play but my first cat just stares at the new cat . He has a vendetta against him and idk how to fix it.
It makes me sad because I try to play with the first cat he never liked being held or petted unless sleeping so trying to give him extra love liek petting and stuff he never liked that unless sleeping . Usually I’d always play with him but now he doesn’t play and I feel like he’s depressed . Idk what to do .
We’ve done all of the scent swapping and initial meeting tips, our older cat just runs away whenever we bring our kitten out. If kitten gets close our older cat starts hissing so we grab kitten because we are scared of what could happen if he runs up to her. We are going 2+ weeks with our kitten in a separate guest room and we are going insane. Any advice is appreciated.
is it normal for my existing cat to hiss at me, after adopting a new kitten?
I’m lucky that despite my cat hissing at my kitten he still plays with her
Getting one cat in the carrier, so that the other one can "familiarize with it", is not the greatest idea. It can backfire quite easily, with the cat in the carrier feeling cornered and helpless, making the whole experience traumatic, rather than a controlled introduction. Instead, you should take it slow and do site swapping, so that both cats can get familiar with each other scents.
My kitten hates my cat he meows at her and he sometimes hisses at her
My Mr Grey lost his older friend, he miowed for days. Finally I got him a kitten, let him smell the cage first.then introduced them . He picked up the kitten by the scruff of the neck carried it to the living room and washed it. Friends and playmates ever since.
welp i just threw my new cat in the house and my other cat bumped into him and were friends from day one
So my resident cat was only here a week and she was shy and afraid so I got her acclimated in our bathroom and used to me my husband and the kids. Her name is Tails and she is 3 months. A week later we got another kitty his name is Knox and he is 5 months. Tails has been ready to come out of the bathroom but I was trying to do the scent swap then the sight swap. He noticed her in the bathroom and her paw came out from under the door.
I brought her out on a leash and harness today so she couldn’t run under the furniture.
Tried to distract him with a wand toy and treats. It halfly worked and he kept fallowing her to swipe at her not just watch her. She eventually swiped back so I put her back in the bathroom (maybe one of my mistakes was instinct using my foot/leg to put space between him go at her? I didn’t kick him or anything though just kinda like a wall)
She really wants out and I feel so bad for keeping her in there.
Also at night if they can get a long for a day or what ever do I put her back in the bathroom to separate them? Or lock him in my room with us so she can roam the house? I worry one of my kids will open my bedroom door though.
I feel discouraged…
This video helped so much at first it was very stressful and difficult but now my cats love each other they will sleep and play together and my older cat loves to bathe my younger cat they will eventually get there so hang in there and be patient
This video only made me more frustrated. There is zero advice and you just tell us how good you are with your cats.
I have resident cat Westside and two new kittens. After we introduced them things were ok, but Westside was not cool with the kittens using his litter boxes. I have 4 litter boxes. Turns out the two kittens are sick with Giardia and also ringworm. The kittens are now secluded to one of the bedrooms while they get better and we will just need to start from scratch. Thankfully Westside didn’t catch either Giardia or ringworm. Trying not to stress. Focusing on getting the kittens 100 percent healthy, still giving lots of love and attention to Westside. This is really challenging. Thanks for the video. ❤
What if you dont have does to separate the cats with? 😔
Maybe i did something bad, and i'm scared i can't do it back?? I bringed home a 2 month kitty to my 7 month kitten (both female) and i let the older one see her, even let the new cat sleep in my room on the first 2 night (in her box). My old cat hissing a lot, but not attack. My house is too small to separate them, and when i tryed, the new kitten couldn't stop crying alone. I don't know what to do in this case. Like is it okay to keep the new kitten in the older's one teritory, but in the box? (Only at night time).
My resident cat keeps biting the new kittens neck to pin her down. Any thoughts?
"New kittens need socialization and can't be left alone for long periods of time"
"Give your existing cat full access to the entire house and lock up kitten"
😂
Lady u have pretty feet
Ya tried all this. Didn’t work.
Very helpful I’m going through the process now.. the eldest boy is being stubborn and won’t come indoors, runs away when he see the new baby girl kitten ❤
Help please 😭😭 I just saw this video after introducing my new kitten immediately. My new kitten was a stray that I found at the beach with no mother and I'm pretty sure he has never seen another cat bc he hisses at his own reflection. My resident cat is 9 months old and hisses and swats at my new kitten and my new kitten just hisses bc he's scared. I need advice. Do I just let them do their thing and let them figure it out or what? Please help 😭😭😭
What about the claws cant they scratch or cut when swatting
my kitten used my older cats box now she wont go in her box even though I changed litter my flat is way to small for 2 litter boxes I don't know what to do at those point taking all suggestions thank you
