Mine are between 3 and 4 weeks based on weight and aren't interested in the wet food. I was worried. I will wait another week to try again.
I absolutely love your info here and on your website, but I don't understand the obsession with always using female pronouns to refer to kittens. It's annoying. It's not like male kittens don't exist.
I got a kitten 5 years ago and I was so confused. The person couldn't care for the kitten and gave her to me. Luckily I found you kitten lady. Now my beautiful girl is 5 yrs old. Thank you for everything you do for them. ❤
So glad I found your channel! I have a litter of 6 that I believe ( based off what you have shared about age and what the shelter said) are just 4 weeks old. The shelter told me they are on gruel (watered down canned food). However, most don't know how to eat it on their own and they are all sucking on each other and meowing a lot. I think they need bottled formula in addition to the canned food they have been eating. All stools are good at this point. I just got them yesterday. My question is, should I go ahead and get them back on bottled formula? I don't want to mess up their tummies but i think they need the nursing time and extra nutrients. I am syringe feeding them and they are suckling when they eat.
how do you know if the kitten is getting full meal or not?
I found 6 kittens just days old in a box who were thrown away like trash. I volunteer at a shelter and I know how overworked they already are. I'm not working right now so I have time to raise them and get them adopted.
I have a kitten that just turned five weeks old and still wanting his bottle. He’ll eat a few pieces of meat kitten soft wet food.. I was wondering if he still not ready to have soft food yet. Some of my friends say that I should wait until eight weeks old. I am a first time mommy with a kitten and I got him at three weeks old and he loves his bottle. He’s got a fat tummy still good after rescued him on 3 July and the vet said that he was maybe about two weeks old on 6 July, but my mom and I think he was younger maybe a week old and he was brought to me at two weeks old. My dad found him in a parking lot a husband and a wife if the wife didn’t see him and tell her husband to stop he would’ve got ran over, but my lady got out moved onto the rocks and my dad said he will take him so I’ve had stormy ever since, the third what should I do? Do do you have any advice for me? Thank you from stormy and I.
my 9 day old kitten chews my fingers even after eating. Is he teething?
My adapted kitten is almost six weeks old. He weighs 540 grams. Very underweight, but extremely active and highly intelligent. He is eating a lot! He weighed 8.2 oz (260 grams) on 1 July, and has gained 280 grams in 12 days. He weighs 540 grams today (12 July).
I took him to Vet on 2 July. Did not deworm yet.
I have Vet Appointment in two days. Probably starting deworming then.
What if my 5 1/2 week old kitten is not at all interested in eating meat?
Thank you Kitten Lady, your videos seem to come from love of kittens and very genuine. I raised 5 orphans from two days old with no guidance, because their mother got ran over and I found them under my big house. I did not like cats, but they changed my mind. I got one under a week old and Im going to raise her according to your guidance.
Smoky and stormy and bandit eat off the same plate together and they just walk away and they’re done sometimes smoky a little bit more
Mine turned 6 weeks today so I’m trying to help them ween off their mother..they’re showing interest in the food but won’t eat it.. they just tap it with nose and later I find them nursing on mama… they been nursing on their mama since day 1
actual video starts at 4:17
oh my god just get to the point
I have 5 11 week olds that still nurse some. They love canned and dry and a little time with mama.
My kittens are 5 weeks today I’m having complications on weaning them I feel the mom is just so exhausted
Your videos are so informative, very helpful!!!! Thank you!!!
Did you make the cat huts! Pattern available!? My rescues are seeing the vet on 4-25 for 4wks old apt! I enjoyed your video! Thanks for sharing!
I got my kitten at 4 weeks and got her onto formula .. she’s my first kitten and she’s 5 weeks now and onto solids but she still wants her milk too .. when do I stop the formula altogether ?
I love every video you make. God bless kitten lady!
When you explain important things don't be over smart showing you are extremely caring. Please
I’m curious why you care for some kittens with gloves on and the shoe covers and others you do not. Could you point me in the right direction for information on that?
My 7 week old will not eat food … no matter what!
Not slurry in a bottle, not slightly watery wet kitten food, not dry food, not slightly wetted kibble, not in a bowl. .. NOT AT ALL.
I tried the slurry in the bottle and he chewed the nipple off (fortunately it fell out of his mouth) … I literally had a breakdown this morning.
He & his brother will ONLY take a bottle.

How much does a kitten have to eat at wet food in a day? Whatever a kitten wants to eat that time?
My kitten is 4 weeks old and she barely eat wet food just so and I'm currently trying to give her wet food suitable for kittens. So now I mixed with milk so she can get the taste. She would more prefer the friskies with gravy but that is for adult cats.
I'm wondering what is the best food to start with??
I Rescued slightly sick isolated kitten, the shy mother never to be seen again and other possible cat moms nearby showing no interest.
That kitten was not interested at all in soft non milk food from age 3to5 weeks, slowly introducing at least the smell of some tiny bits to be licked.
then she suddenly was very interested, and ate 3 whole meals at once, and puked out the last 2 of them from overfeeding.
That was a rough lesson, that the new food needs more time and has other capacity limits.
She is growing fast and normal weight for age+length.
She knows ALL the different foods for cats and tends to be picky.
My 4 week old kitten is gnawing holes through his bottles. He has his molers in the back. Is it okay to start weaning him?? I’ve tried wet food and he ain’t having it
They will never eat normal if you give the bottle too long
My kittens turn 4 weeks old tomorrow but already have their canines and premolars (maybe not fully out?) Are they still too young to start them on slurry? They've been refusing the bottle and keep biting the nipple… Could it be because we're away from home for the week? Maybe they feel odd in the new "feeding station"
Help please 😫
When I was in college, and we're talking back in the early 70s, a fellow student dumped (kindly) a trio of little newborns on my roomie and me, whose cat mother had been hit by a car. Because I had a cat I adopted at about five weeks who had a rough start, she thought I would know what to do. Well, I didn't, with infants less than a week old, and calls to a vet brought only the advice that we would not succeed and we should surrender them to be euthanized.
I wish I could say it was a happy ending, but one by one we watched them try their hardest to live and not make it.
They were born good sized from a clean, healthy mother and had no worms or fleas, and a competent carer would have saved them, no question. I've never forgotten it, or how hard my roommate took it each time we lost one (I was putting myself through a music major as a hospital nurse's aide, and had a little more realistic view of sickness and death). These little instructional videos are golden, and I can tell you I committed myself each of the mistakes Kitten Lady talks about, and how simple it is to give the little life what it needs if you only know how.
To the memory of little Faith, Hope and Love. I have never forgotten them.
Can a kitten eat regular food and nurse with their mother at the same time?
