You need to minimise your eye contact with your pre written script. I get the script thing but it needs to be less laughably obvious.
I got a bad feeling about it….
How many people have you ever seen walking down the street with a Switch in their back pocket> Answer – Zero.
I thought Hades did run at 60fps on Switch.
Really? You judged it on Deathloop?!?
You know im pretty sure every single time you said something good about the steam deck there was a "but" right after it.. to be honest I didn't appreciate it lmao.. ahh another DieHard Nintendo fanboy trying to hide his true colors… Sry bub but I made you in the first 3 minutes of this review LOL..soon as you said you couldn't throw it in your backpack after you just compared it's size to a switch and complained about it Hurting..😂 your.. 🤣elbows.. I was like "Yup.. I knew it, switch fanboys and their weak a$$ elbows are hating on the steam deck again".. reviewers and haters alike can talk about the steam decks performance but the fact of the matter is there is no game right now that is fully optimized to run on the steam deck.. give it about a year and let valve and developers and AMD go mad scientist on optimizing the steam deck and its games and I believe there will be a substantial jump in performance. Honestly the fact that any game runs on it well is truly amazing. Developers who had access to the PS5 dev kit far far in advance of its release doesn't have as many games on it that run well as the valve steam deck and it's completely new hardware from the ground up lmao.. Switch fans just SUPER butt hurt bc the steam deck is the switch they have always dreamed of but knows they will never get.. that's the foundation of a hater.. a true hater 😎
Fortunately Q1 2022 and I've bought games specifically with my Steam Deck in mind. I'm not big on playing platformers on my pc, but with my Steam Deck, I'll be able to treat it like a Switch and play on the couch while my wife watches whatever girly show she's watching on Netflix.
laggy not worth buying it
Did this ginger just say 1.47lbs is heavy after 20 minutes… you are the problem pal
Guys… "only 500 games are verified to work […] It's another trade off"
When have you ever heard of a console launching with that many games on day 1? To avoid the trade off stick to just the verified store page and you're already beating most modern consoles in library.
Easily slip the switch in your pocket? Nah dude, most people have their switch in a backpack anyway. I think you are talking down the aaa game capability. The figures from other reviewers have should many aaa games can run at 60fps.
To the reviewer himself: great vid, thanks for making it! To PC Gamer: I'm sure you can afford to get your video-facing employees a teleprompter…
Slip a switch In your pocket? You still wearing JNCO jeans. Let me borrow a pair.
I can't wait for my Steam Deck! Can finally beat 4X games & JRPGs on the go.
I’ve never owned a PC i would love to build one if it was not so expensive and the GPU prices are out of the roof, so the steam deck is like a god send for me allowing me to experience indie and triple A games that i would other wise missed out on, it would be my first dip into steam and PC world and I can’t wait, not to mention how cheap games are on steam and the deals you get every day are insane, yeah I can’t wait to get my steam deck.
Hades runs at 60fps on Switch, even in handheld.
Mmm.. I know some reviewers want to use the switch as e reference because the switch is in there comfort zone but that is like compare apples to oranges. The Deck may be heavier but I think it's because is a portable gaming PC at a low price and a decent performance. Steom OS is Linux try practice and learn how to use the terminal now day you can copy and paste most of the basic set up on Linux.
The battery is going to be this devices biggest weakness no matter what settings you put it on.
I don't even plan to buy in the foreseeable future because I'm not into mobile gaming but I've continiuously watched Steam Deck videos for the past 24 hours XD
I think I just want this to be a big success because I like Valve's approach of openness and using open technologies.
And it's really interesting how people's opinion of it varies.
Some loves the speakers, some think it's bad.
Some likes the overall ergonomics but some think it's straining them.
Some thinks the UI needs a lot of improvements but you said it's actually great.
The thing with the Deck I think is that if people likes the idea of it, despite its shortcomings, they should buy and support it because if they don't, they can't expect to see a product that they dream of.
That has been how it is in the open source /Linux community. You need to accept some caveats or compromises to use and support something you like and believe.
Hopefully, that mentality will be common instead of consumers just relying on big companies to give them what they want which usually is the opposite, big companies tell their consumers what they want and what is good for them.
I wouldn’t be caught dead with a Nintendo switch in my pocket
PC gamers will never play this on a so small screen. It will be an industrial accident.
For some reason i expected PC Gamer to give a unique PC/PC Gaming perspective on steam deck, instead all i picked up was :
Nintendo Switch
Nintendo Switch
Switch
Nintendo
Don't like RE2 on small screen (what is a handheld supposed to do about that?)
Nintendo Switch
Nintendo Switch
I wonder how steam OS works with other PC x86 handhelds
This thing gone die so fast
Don't buy the steam deck if you expect it to perform like a 3000 € PC.
I will never ever ever go portable or VR. I am in the majority of gamers. So this will fail. Just like VR has failed, and successful portables barely exist, I think I am right.
STOP SHOWING GAMES THAT CAN RUN ON AN $80 CELLPHONE AND START SHOWING AAA TITLES. We already know the Deck can run old games and shitty titles. We want to see games that we normally wouldn’t see running on a hand-held. THAT’S THE WHOLE POINT OF THE DECK.
I may end up playing my graphically demanding games using remote play from my pc on the steam deck.
This is not the first review to mention the loud fan noise. And most people getting this to not be stuck in a room on PC. Sitting on a couch with a partner with a loud fan whine could be a problem.
"Locking the framerate to 30"…..ok dude… not for me
Using footage from PC "verison" or trailers is very misleading at best, why not record the gameplay on Steam Deck directly? Is this not supposed to be a review?
I don't care if it going to Be thin or light I think how it is is the best i will just put it in my back pack and know I can play my games on the go is all good for me
not just cheaper than handheld PC's but PC's and laptops in general. Give me a PC build that is 400 dollars and can run God of War.
Can this run Lost Ark!?
Why would you want to put The Steam Deck or even The Switch in your pockets?
You can easily slip the Switch into your pocket?! How big are your pockets!? XD
Thanks for the review. Feels a little bit weird you’re not talking into the camera, but rather apparently read the review from your monitor. Otherwise great video 👍🏻
Very nice detailed and unbiased review
All these reviewers doing reviews of this thing where you have to look at these assholes face for most of the time instead of showing the thing in action, it's size in your hands or gameplay except for a few seconds. WTF.
I’m going to keep mine and sell it for obscene price to a soyboy
Respect for the King Kong poster in the background and yes I can't wait for the Steam Deck!
Can it plaY minedcraf
I really want to like this, but struggling to play newer titles at 30fps means this thing is already dead in the water. For hobbyists, emu gang, and people who like to play old stuff, this is an awesome machine. But it feels like the deck 2 with a big gpu upgrade will be the one to get
was going to watch this but decided to listen to Linus first seeing he has more experience with this kind of stuff
Oof idk the battery life sounds terrible
