The problem with trimming claws is not even trimming claws, it's that people don't know how, inside the claws of most predators there is something called "quick", which is basically a living part of the cat to keep the nail structures, it's basically if a person cut a bit of your finger off while making your nails, while there is a part of the claw that is only "extra nail", if you don't know, don't do it yourself [it also serves for dogs]

Give me a break. I made it to the 1:56 mark before I realized it is BS. So many people lives center around their pets. Pets live in my world I don't live in theirs. I have a cat I feed her and take care of her. She does her part by killing mice and moles and snakes. I give her the attention she needs. She follows me around outside like a pup would do. Animals are meant to be outside not caged up in a house somewhere. But hey, to each their own.
We have 2 cats and I immediately wanted to pet my cat like both of them and I started to and then they started to make pancakes You know where they put their pants on the You know where they put their paw on a blanket and put the paw up and down and stuff The cats were doing it was so cute The best part them And I are doing it next to me Fake bunnies in like a basket And they always knock down but I don't yell at them I can't Get mad at them

My old cat was ferral & im not being hyperbolic when i say she was a demon. I trued EVERYTHING from positive reinforcement to disciplinary actions (later on as she continued to push her bounderies). Over time i came to the conclusion that there wasnt myluch i can do exceot deal woth her in the moment & try to keep her spaces to her liking so she wouldnt do some horrid thing out of spite. Never had a pet like her as all my other pets ahve all be well behaved. Had ro put her down at 13 cos her back legs went out & she could barley stand but she was a true horror in her prime, often beating uo the local foxes for fun.

Declawing is abuse. It is an extremely painful process for a cat to undergo. It’s beyond cruel!
My current furbaby Tim (I've had for a few weeks so far) is the most anxious wee furbaby I've ever come across, poor thing. A few days in he developed a gammy eye and so I had to grab him and take him to the vet! Then while I tried to give him his meds, he decided he'd had enough and scratched the hell out of my hands. I ended up in hospital with a bad infection and it was all very dramatic. So then we were both on antibiotics — flippin' hec. The good news tho is he's come so far since day 1, so I reckon with time we'll be all right, him and me. He really is such a sweet boy and he just needs to learn that I only want the best for him. ❤❤❤
Declawing is wrong? Interesting! You don’t seem to think it wrong to loose you cat into the neighborhood day or night instead of keeping them safely inside. Guess it’s not wrong that your cat could kill neighborhood birds, guess you don’t have a problem with your cat defiling people’s property using it as a litter box, or being picked up as a stray or being run over because you won’t keep your cat inside.
Declawing wrong? abut you won’t spay or neuter so there are a bunch of unwanted kittens you dump in a shelter or outside hoping someone else will rescue them.

Declawing is wrong while you insist on walking a cat like a dog which they’re not. You don’t like declawing but impose a leash on a cat.
You do it at a year old. They don’t miss their claws, YOU do. Cats don’t hold a grudge being declawed, YOU do. No one forces you to declaw.
Oh they miss their claws if you do it, right? YOU miss them. Indoor cats don’t miss their claws. Was there a complication when you did it because your Vet released them to you too early? Didn’t insist on a follow up visit to check healing? Didn’t instruct you for a couple of weeks to use shredded paper before regular litter again?
Declawing is wrong? Vets have no problem euthanizing because the owner is too cheap to do an operation they need. Seen that done twice on two dogs. One quick, one agonizingly slow with an I.V. drip.
What do you people think? The Vet just clips off claws no anesthesia? Not done that way.

Infections, or arthritis you say you might have with a cat declawed. Never happened to me in 44 years and counting owning cats.
You don’t approve of declawing or regretted it doesn’t mean everyone does. But you feel the need to project. You didn’t do proper after care and maybe your Vet didn’t bother with it. My Vet was a stickler for it.
Declawing should be illegal because YOU don’t approve? Seems that’s imposed on women who need an abortion or miscarriage care and are denied and die because of abortion bans. Let’s impose forcing child birth and those who don’t like abortion don’t see it as wrong.

I bought a particularly quiet vacuum cleaner. My cats don't seem to mind it and they often let me get VERY close to them with it, provided that I don't move it close to them too fast. Even so – I still can't help but pick them up and put them in high spots that they love (Loke loves shelves,- Hera loves napping in the bathroom sink) before I turn it on and start cleaning

I own a dog and a cat both raised from babies together, a Husky and a Black smooth hair. They often sleep together in the dog bed.
They're more like litter mates to each other than a dog and a cat. 🙂
The Husky, well it's a Husky lol. The cat does her own thing and if she wants pettings she jumps up in my lap, I don't pick her up unless she wants me to by placing her front paws on my thigh.
She just does her own thing most of the time.

I rhink my cat is broken 🙈 he loves playing with my 4 year old and let her put him under blankets in her doll bed she plays vet with him , he knows when school is out and will wait for her to play at the window next to the door . He does have a room she is not allowed in so he can have his peace and quiet time whenever he needs it , but he only sleeps there at night or when she is too school , once she is home i dont even exist 🙈

I’ve seen again the anti declawers. And it baffles me. One, it’s none of anyone’s business whether we have them declawed or not. Those of us who’ve had it done don’t need your permission or approval. Second, speaking for myself, my cats, and I’m on 4 and 5 my first pair, my cats have always been indoor. No need for claws.
My cats past and present were declawed at a year old the same time they were fixed and I’ve had and have both genders. Funny how no one says being spayed or neutered is cruel. Neutering cuts down to eliminating spraying, cuts down on tumors. Spaying eliminates any cancers or tumors and no need to put your female through the uncomfortableness of heat. Fixing and declawing, and declawing on its own is obviously done by a Vet under anesthesia. Everyone makes it sounds like the cat is wide awake.
Yes, the last joint is clipped. But since I’ve worked at a couple Vet clinics in my youth it’s not a loud crunching of bone. I saw neuters, spays mostly, and unfortunately and I quit one over it, one Vet had no problem euthanizing two dogs, one fast one with a slow I.V. drip because the owners who abandoned their dogs, refused to pay for operations they needed. No one seems to find that cruel a Vet willing to euthanize because of chintzy owners who don’t even bother to say to give last comfort which I did for one cat and one dog.
One person said to me after care doesn’t matter. Well it does with declaws! My Vet had a mandatory week stay. Booties for newborns are put on the paws for a few days, small cage to restrict movement, shredded paper for litter. Close monitoring. Dissolvable sutures. Cruel? it’s cruel when Vets release your animal, no matter what was done before anesthesia has totally worn off and some think it’s funny to film their animal flopping all over being unsteady. I always objected to that. No one else seemed to think that cruel.
After I brought my cats home I made an appointment for a follow up visit for a week later to check healing, while I had two weeks of shredded paper for litter. Pain? I never saw it. Limping? Didn’t happen. Arthritis? Not with my cats after declawing of cats I’ve had since 1980. Perhaps those things happened because owners didn’t bother to do after care. Or question why release was too quick.
My cats still do the motion of sharpening non existent claws because it’s instinct. They run around no problem and when I took them in for a follow up visit which with my Vet was mandatory which was what I didn’t mind at all, there were never any healing complications. My cats can scratch an itch with no problem. Do they have their little disagreements? Yes. They still have their teeth and when it gets out of hand I stop it and they’re back being friends. IF my cats ever had dental problems where all teeth had to be removed which never happened, they can survive on soft food.
Declawing cruel? You know what cruel is? Putting them out night and day! You got a cat for companionship not an ornament. Why have a cat when you stick them outside because you don’t want to deal with them. They don’t destroy homes being left alone.
Declawing cruel? You put your cats out where they can get run over. Claws don’t stop a car! Claws don’t stop a faster dog who wants to mess with them. Outside cats can get into a fight with your cat outside and you don’t know what shots they had or didn’t and bam, Vet visit because of a cat fight! Your cat you put out cruelty kills neighborhood birds then they’re yelled about because they’re predators. Maybe YOU don’t mind someone else’s cat coming onto your property using as a litter box but others will and not everyone is so forgiving. Some may put out poison or maybe shoot them. Who knows! Then you have the possibility of animal control being called by someone else and your cat up is put in the pound. They don’t walk up to you and give you your cat. How come all that doesn’t seem to be cruel. Indoor cats are always safe.
Declawing cruel! How many times have I seen a disturbing video of a cat where your Christmas tree has fallen on. Nope! You keep non filming thinking that funny! Or you laugh because you think it a chuckle when a cat misses and falls because they couldn’t reach something. Or they fall off the bed. Or the old seran wrap so called challenge. I don’t find it funny your dog or cat penned in with plastic wrap they can’t see and they bump into it confused and stressed or forced to jump over obstacles for your views for both cats and dogs and you call declawing cruel? I had to block one video where a guy couldn’t get near his baby because he allowed his dog to become over protective. That wasn’t funny! Or the guy who thought it amusing his dog snapping at him when he tried to hug his own wife. That’s not cruel? To encourage your dog to attack oh ha ha? I blocked those.
Cats get used to being declawed young. A year old NOT a week or a month or after birth. I don’t think older cats any good Vet would declaw and even I would object.
I’ve had the complaint of well you care about your furniture. I never declawed because of furniture. Ever! I don’t have good enough vision to clip claws. I don’t have the money for Vet clipping. I don’t stop bleeding within seconds. I don’t need to be poked by claws. No one is around to stop my bleeding after 10 minutes of ooze!
I’ve had cats since 1980. First two declawed on just the front, my previous and my two now, on all paws. They don’t mope around the rest of their lives with the look of how dare you declaw us and have us fixed when we were a year old. YOU have a problem. They don’t hold grudges. YOU do have a cat or never had a cat. My cats have always been loving and affectionate, aren’t biters, and we’re very close. I don’t bother them when they sleep or eat, the rare kids who have come were told how to respect my cats and yes even my late dog. I don’t force petting my boy is just to heavy to pick up so that’s rare. But he’s used to being picked up.
My cats apartment living and now house living have no interest in going too close to the door to run out and I certainly don’t leash train them. They’re NOT dogs. But if you want to walk your car outside fine. Who am I to tell you what you can and can’t do.
Declawing is like abortion. Agree with both or not, it’s not a stranger’s call to make judgements as your opinion isn’t asked nor wanted. Don’t like abortion don’t do it! Don’t like declawing don’t do it! In both groups they’re the same. Can’t guilt or shame you get verbally abusive.

Declawing in may places is legal. You don’t like it tough. No one is asking you. And thanks to those politicians who have a problem with abortion, women are dying because they don’t get the care they need when something goes wrong and forget about HER life. Imposing.
Cats get used to declawing. Just like they get used to spaying and neutering. If Vets have a problem with declawing, perhaps they should reconsider euthanasia because the owner is too chintzy to spring for a needed operation to fix everything and give the dogs or cats to a shelter. I for one when I volunteered for two Vets didn’t appreciate having to deal with the dead bodies because the Vet tech wouldn’t.

Our cat Casper died a few days ago. He was badly injured by motor vehicle and was severely injured to the point where nothing could be done to help. Therefore he was put to sleep. My heart is aching so much with grief. Is there anyone reading this that can know how it feels.. it’s terrible.

When she turned around and seen it she just sniffed it and walked a way. It dident make her jump or scare her at all. I was let down it dident scare her.
