I didn't realise that forespoken got a demo on PC when the game launched, found out yesterday so I'm happy that I can try it out.
I feel like I am from an alternative universe because I am enjoying this game. I have disposable income so money is no issue. I know Square Enix can publish an amazing title like Final Fantasy 14. Which many of us believe it's the greatest JRPG story ever made. So, I don't have inner hatred for the company. I also happen to own AMD 5800X3D, RX 6800XT, and 32GB RAM, which is listed as recommended for ultra setting. Although, I agree the game could be better in terms of performance, my hardware manages keep up between 80~120FPS with Balance FSR so it's more than playable. People seem to complain about the game pacing with cutscenes but again, I play FF14 so I am used to those stuff that goes for 10+ min of cutscenes. My native language is Japanese so I have it on Japanese Dub. With Japanese, there are no cringe dialog nor excessive cussing. The conversation actually feels natural and the delivery seems reasonably good. So, yeah, i feel like I am playing a totally different game from what others have described lol

About that 2hr window for refunds. I'm going back to physical media. I got burned for the last time with Callisto. At the very least, I'll have a physical copy that I can pawn off to one of my friends. Callisto on the other hand is just going to sit in my library and rot.
I love the dumbass who said this game got bad graphics. The game is cringey, boring, repetitive and more, but they did some fine work with the graphics its just a shame its the only thing that was done right.

Got Simple Planes for like $15, and have put over 1900 hours into it since 2016. That's more than an hour per penny. Eat your heart out AAA publishers XD Edit: And I have since bought copies of that game for others because I believe it really is worth playing and the devs deserve more compensation for all the fun I've gotten out of it over the years
4:50 I've noticed this as well. A big part of the reason I snagged CP77 on GOG was because of the very generous refund policy – 30-days no playtime limit. I've been a fan of CDPR since they were just modding the Aurora engine so I was okay waiting on them to release some patches and my 2nd playthru after Edgerunners released was a lot of fun. But, I've tried to purchase some other games I was skeptical about on GOG and they were not on there at all. Makes you wonder. Renting games needs to become more popular again or something. Atleast Forspoken released a demo which is bold of them tbh lmao

My reason not to play Forspoken: Is a mean Girl Boss fantasy in an Isekai setting, wen she is treated like a god, and she responds to everyone cursing like a sailor wit Tourette Syndrome.
100% the game starts slow so they can avoid Steam's refund policy.

Even $60 games these days i'd argue is to much. Most fps games can't beat Halo 3 which came out in 2007, most rpgs can't beat Mass Effect 1 from 2008, and so on. We're paying $10 more for objectively worse products

I wouldn't pay $70 for a Square Enix game as a starting point, but I'm giving Forspoken a hard pass regardless of price.
I played the demo for a bit. It’s alright, on my 6800x it plays 55-70 fps on ultra, ray tracing 1080p (my monitor not 4k) I feel it should run better but other than that it’s an alright game. Probably will buy it when it’s like $20-$30? Probably less. The main character is annoying, also the title screen made me cringe when I heard the fucking kick trap beat. Like seriously lol
I didn't think it was possible to "out cash grab" The Last Of Us Part 1 but Square found a way.
Be ready for February 8th/9th as Hogwarts Legacy releases and all the people desperatrly trying to defend Forspoken will relentless attack anyone and everyone who liked, bought, and or played it.
This game reminds me of the Gotham Knights / Arkham Knight comparisons. Forspoken and FF15 are the same engine, yet one was released 6 years ago and looks a bit better.
I'm gonna throw out a little conspiracy here, I think Square Enix is trying to sabotage it's self to the point where it's value crashes so hard that someone like Sony or Microsoft buys them on the cheap. in that scenario I hope Microsoft buys them.

If you're looking for a good RPG, might I recommend Xenoblade/Persona? Persona 5 specifically, I think has enough to make the more turn based combat feels more fluid and involved, and Xenoblade is more realtime, but is more about Art management and positioning, given how buffed certain Arts are in relation to where you're striking
There's also P5 Strikers which is just P5 but with more musou styled combat
….and I just realized that recommending and talking about Xenoblade and Persona is far more interesting than Forspoken
