“Fostering.” I feel like it’s a good thing for kittens like that, but what happens when this cat, who imprinted on the foster, only to be shipped out to another home w/new ppl. Poor thing is confused& probably thinks these new humans are going to just hand her off, too. 😒

Cats, of all ages, have the mental age of a 2 year old child. Imagine a 2 year old child having to live like this. Of course they're going to be defensive because it's all they've ever known when they've had to live alone in a cruel world. That's probably why she liked the brushing.. If she lost her mother, as a kitten, she probably never felt or even misses the way that her mothers tongue would feel as she'd clean her. It's the same with kids, of that age, who have been abused. They don't know how to let people into their lives and are often defensive and lash out.

I feel you can get close to you animal without allowing your pet on or in your bed. Animals have their place in the home. But not sleeping with them in or on your bed. They need to know their boundaries just like children need boundaries.

I have rescued many many kittens from the neighborhood I used to live in. There was a man several houses down who had a daughter with a mental deficiency who only wanted kittens, she loved kittens, but when they got older because of her behaviors, they would scratch her when she tried to squeeze them or hold them too tight, and they ended up being thrown out the door, which resulted in many many feral cats in the neighborhood the mothers got pregnant had babies. The babies got pregnant had more babies. It was a constant I used to rescue them. I tried to get the mothers before they delivered. I was successful sometimes other times I would have to go after the kittens when they started growing and appearing unders sheds and around buildings in the neighborhood, I rescued several mothers and was able to get them spayed rabies shots, and find them homes all in all I think I rescued about 30 kittens, found them homes and got them out of that situation. It’s a very sad thing to watch over and over again, I finally had to move because I could not do it anymore. It just broke my heart and I was exhausted with the financial burden of it. I spent my own money doing this over and over and that man just did not care.
