So we have a new pup 3 months old. We feed him in the morning and in the evening. We take him out as soon as we wake, then he eats then he’s out for about a hour or so then back in the crate. We try and take him out about every 1 hour or so to pee/poop/play then back in the crate which seems to work for him.
Just got a 8 week old havasu 4 days ago
I got a 7month old pit and I find that when you take them out to potty, not to just let them do their business while you look around the neighborhood or up at the sky. Watch your dog's behaviour and body language BEFORE the business happens. Most dogs, it might look like sniffing the ground a lot or sniffing the ground and walking in circles, something they don't normally do indoors. If you see that in the house (hopefully you are around to see it) then it's definitely time to go outside. If you see their rear quarters looking like it wants to dip or curl under, you are pretty much too late lol. You are dragging them outside mid stream or mid loaf haha
I’ve had yorkies the last 16 years no problems with training. I have a 4 month old frenchie/boxer and finding it hard to train. He just doesn’t seem to get it. Now your schedule is suited for someone who is home all day. But some days dogs will be home alone for max 6 hours. Content doesn’t suit every household. But I’m at a lost argghhh help 😂😂😂😂❤
I just got my puppy 🐶 and we work on crate training and potty training but i have work at 8 in morning so she goes in her crate during the day and come let her out on lunch break but she in there most the mornings until my daughter comes home from school i have been have her sleep with me because i dont want in the crate that many hours what should i do what would be the best plan?
With any of the mistakes I’ve made with my first dog, who is 8 currently; crate and potty training were going to be on point.
Woke up 3-4 times a night to let him out. First thing in the morning. Training session, exercise and potty again. When I had a job with no car I would bike home to let him out on break and bike back. My whole break was taken up from biking home.
It can be hard and unsure how to work around work. Set yourself up for success. Have a game plan. Take time off, coordinate with others at home. Have a dog sitter or someone come over to help. Have cameras to see what’s going on. Set yourself up for success.
My score is 7 1/2 hours long, so how am I going to make sure it doesn’t poop and pee on the floor
I knew it's a boerboel
my dobie is 4 months hold it in the crate all night but during the day pees under my feet and just squats anywhere…very frustrating. We have potty trained a lot of dogs but this little girl is challenging. I think if she had an infection she would not be able to hold it in the crate for the night.
Question. I have to work during the day. Is it ok to put the puppy in an ex pen during the day and crate train at night? Is this too much isolation?
Any advice I'm about to get a pitbull puppy
Nice video
The playlist timeline is a little confusing, do you close the crate door during this potty training? considering your schedule it's confusing me a little, also assuming Burleigh's not exactly crate trained yet during this so would be crying/whining etc or do you just have the xpen there so he can free roam but has pads near by?
My puppy was a rescue she refuses to go potty anywhere that’s not our yard or in the house. We went on a trip she held it for a full day before she finally went and then immediately inside. Still refuses to go on walks. Help 😢
OK but I take my puppy out every 30 mins. Even stay outside for 20 mins and once we go inside she pees. I give her treats every time she go's and I'm just confused on how im failing.
My 10 week old puppy figured out how to climb out of the ex-pin unless than 10 minutes🤦♀️ I’m thinking I’m going to have to move her crate every morning.
Can a puppy eat 3x. A day ? I thought 2x only?
In puppy mode right now, after not doing it in 3-4 years. Totally forgot the schedule and the early wake up calls.. 😅😅😮💨😮💨.
He gets taken out every hour, and we've been pushing crate time longer to have him hold it in.
This is more difficult when you live a condo or apartment and need to make it downstairs.
I only come down to let her out to potty from her crate once during the night so now you’re making me reassess my schedule lol I also have a small baby it’s like having two kids😂 she’s two and the puppies three months? I’m just in the terror phase all over the place😭😝
Why is dinner so late?
The bell is a good idea. The only thing is that my late GSD/Malinois mix was so smart that she'd "ring" that bell just to get out because it was more fun outside 😂
Ok, so my puppy is almost 7 months old. We potty trained her in about a week, and it seemed very easy. But now we have a different problem: she only goes potty in our back yard and WON'T go when we're out on a day trip. She holds it for somtimes 8-10 hours and cries in the car on the way home. We've tried getting her to pee on walks and she just seems confused and gets really agitated on the rest of the walk. Please help!!!
Tom I have a question I have my 10 week old puppy in the playpen I put him out every hour but sometimes he do pee in the playpen ( with the pads) the thing is when he’s free all over the house he go outside using the doggie door he already knows how using in less than two days I teach him but sometimes when he’s free don’t want to use N he did inside the house 🫣 what I doing wrong 😫
Ok so I am going out and dog is totally not interested to make a pee aa soon as we are back home she is doing it on the carpet. Would you say she needs to be then put back to crate if she is not peeing outside?
I’ve had my puppy for just over a week now, he’s 8 weeks old! Adopted from the HS and working with him he’s potty trained, cage trained AND place trained 👏👏👏 Working on biting lol, he’s doing great. Also introduced him to the beach, my Jeep , docs, patio restaurant, other great big dogs, kids and people! Leash just happened on its own ❤️❤️❤️ I’m completely exhausted but get sleep when he sleeps, and that’s A LOT!!! Thank you!!!
My puppy is terrified of being outside & she’s 4 months old . She won’t walk on her leash at all so idk if this would work for her
I live in an apartment 5 stories up. How am I gonna bring him down fast?
i’m struggling with potty training, i’m taking her out but she plays outsides and then comes in an pees in the house help?!!
How does this work if puppy sleeps outside but is inside all day ? She does good on her own outside bathroom wise but inside she will pick and choose when to use her puppy pads?
I have a two month old labrador and i am having a hard time. We have a cat and the dog wants to either play with the kitty litter or sees the cat use it and use it to potty in also 🙄
