My cat is like very shy touch her too Sudently she goes berserk she’s new like I only had her for like 1 day but I can touch her now I’ll let her rest I can’t let her out for now because she will run away but if she makes after a few days still progress I’m gonna keep her
Our cats spent months loving the wife and now they love me and she has noticed the change. Months from now they'll be sat on her lap instead.
Cats love a good snuggle but you gotta build up to it like the dude said in the beginning they don’t know you and while you think they are cute because they are small you naturally see them as less of a threat.. if you see from their perspective they have to immediately see you as a potential threat just because you are so big big enough to accidentally kill them. If they trust you enough for contact it’s okay to show them your care and affection is safe and then let go when the cat wants you’ll kinda instinctually know when it’s cus they don’t understand what your doing and are just trying to be safe and then other times you might just be hurting them remember they are small and probably feel things more because your movement might be heavier than they are used to, now I’ve seen a lot of cats that like their rough human family thus why I said “used to”
This “letting them make the first move” is good because they can gauge your movements understanding you a little better maybe cats can tell if you’re calm or a good time to become familiar with you and they’ll come and you’ll just show them you understand they are a creature too by showing common signs of acknowledgment one way is to pet them or something that makes them feel good like if u are familiar with how cats kinda like to be pet or massaged. Or feeding them cats are pretty cool creatures just remember it’s another being that grew up with certain cards dealt to them

My brothers outdoor Cat came between my legs as I was doing laundry..Rubbing himself on my legs from then all the way back to the house.
He was purring, his tail all over me..And then it REALLY freaked me out when he looked straight at me and rolled on his back looking at me. I closed the sliding glass door and he kept trying to get back inside!!!!
He stayed there for over an hour!
I came back and he was right there pushing himself against the entrance to get himself in. Then again he laid on his back and was looking at me.
