Still hard to believe that this is the same Epic that made the Gears of war games.

they killed their legacy when they delisted and shut down every unreal games, the games their engine is named after, the games that made them successful, some of highest rated games on steam
they never finished the 4th game! all necause of fortnite's success the game has been abandoned!

Story update: Epic have won the first suit against apple… I serious hope Apple contest it to a higher court.

Not agree.. I'm against both companies. I hate epic for being such a shitty company since the 90s. purposely screwing the audio quality of epic pinball and jazz jackrabbit for creative sound blaster cards and giving the Gravis Ultrasound and sb CLONE cards full quality. and the reason was that they were angry at creative for "market domination" and because of that pathetic excuse the games ended up sounding worse on one of the most worldwide used sound card (if not the most). Pfff. nowadays THEY DO market domination doing all the things you say in this video (force devs to make epic exclusive games because of unreal engine, and things like that). Epic always has been a shitty company that screw the users.
But Apple are NOT saints. Is practically a monopoly. And they use their power (and government contacts) to create laws against repair shops. They wont release spare parts for any of their devices to sell, and the devices are software locked or lose functiones if you use parts that isn't serialized (doesnt matter if the part is original…)
And even more, all the shitty "features" that all device manufacturers are doing right now (internal battery, shared mic/headphones jack ON A LAPTOP, serialization of all spare parts, and a long etc) was always apple the company that do those awful anti-user things in the first time, the other companies follow apple's lead. And surely there are so much mean things that apple do that i'm forgetting right now, but im sure there are TONS of things like that.
So, i hate both companies and i sincerely wish that both companies recieve severe punishments for his anti-user actions.

I wouldn't be surprised if Apple exec's still, months later, just randomly ask themselves "What the ever loving fuck?" when thinking about Epic's massive fit.

The fact that this shit is still on-going and no sane judge hasn't thrown it out and told both companies to stop engaging in the equivalent of playground antics makes me sad for the state of our legal system. What a waste of time and resources.

epic games isn't the only one who sues apple for antitrust laws. There is a company called cydia, who does so, too. For apple the epic games' lawsuit may hold some merit, but for Microsoft it doesn't, since you can download your apps from anywhere if you want to (which is more risky and less convenient).
But even if epic has a point with apple, they are not on the high ground morally. Epic doesn't want fair competition, they wanna force people to use their own inferior store by buying tons of exclusive games. That is inherently anti consumer and allows them to get a (mostly) timed monopoly on certain games. No,epic is you are not fighting for the customers here. Not to mention that they make loads of cash with selling lootboxes in fortnite, which in some contries is considered illegal gambling and may cause gambling addiction. Which is especially bad since a ton of fortnite players are children or teenagers, which also violates gambling and child/youth protection laws in a lot of countries.

for those who said that are against exclusivity, name one sucessfull platform that dont have exclusives.
nintendo consoles? mario, zelda, pokemon, among others.
sony? crash was exclusive, god of war, last of us etc.
xbox? halo, forza, gears.
sega? sonic and many others?
pc? wtf do you think directX is? an Windows exclusive, if microsoft trully wanted to promote the end of exclusivity as they pretend, they would promote opengl/vulkan and help developing it among the other companies from khronos group instead of trying to compete against it.

there is no such a thing as an world without exclusives,there is either what we have on consoles (a few exclusives from sony, a few from nintendo, a few from microsoft and almost everything else multiplatform) or what we have on pc (where almost everything is windows exclusive and other platforms strugle to have support from thirdy parties having to resort to translation layers that never will be perfect to run stuff from windows) so quit the hypocris on criticizing epic store, you wont support platforms that dont have exclusives until they get enough marketshare to have support from the thirdy parties, what you are truly defending is not the end of exclusivity but the monopoly of the current market leader.

Just happy CDPR hasn't been bribed for exclusivity and have their own store to buy Cyberpunk 2077.
