We found a kitten who was meowing by itself for 3 days. We waited for the mom to come back but never did. We finally got her and she meows all night. She is very friendly and lets us pet her but I think she gets nervous since she hides under the couch.

My daughter wants a cat and my aunt from Portugal promised her one. I am a bit worried as I am more of a dog person. We have 2 small dogs at home. I had a cat when I was young, a siamese cat. He was the most perfect cat in the world. He was an indoor cat. I am afraid to let cats stray, as they do in Portugal, as he or she may never come back… but as my dogs are often in the garden and with 2 children I'm not sure its possible to keep it indoors. What advice can you give me?
