everybody is so focused on the voice acting that it’s taking away from how SPECTACULAR THIS MOVIE LOOKS!!! A brooklyn Italian accent! it WILL grow on me!! visually, this movie is top notch!!!

I think Chris Pratt is trying to do that kind of Mario voice that was from the old super mario bros super show cartoon as I remember how Mario used to sound way back.

The over Italian accent would get old soon in a 2 hour movie, it works for a video game but not for a movie.
Mario's voice only so weird because we are so used to Charles Martinet using an italian accent. Mario had a tv show in the early 90's and he and Luigi had Brooklyn accent. Charles Martinet used an italian accent when he went into the audition. They liked it and kept it. It looks like Nintendo is returning to the Brooklyn accent. I think they had this in mind when they hired Chris Pratt. If poeple want to criticize his brooklyn accent and voice acting after watching the whole movie, I think that is fine.
I think it's cool that they're giving Mario his original Brooklyn accent, or at least that was the intention, you slightly hear it towards the end when he says "here we come", the stereotypical high-pitched Italian accent came after that. Mario's origin story, according to Miyamoto himself was that he was a plumber from Brooklyn who came to the mushroom Kingdom, I think they're changing it to Mario being from Metro City (new donk City) from Mario Odyssey as the "New York" of the Mario universe who comes to the mushroom Kingdom.
The game voice would be terrible for an entire movie. Learn to think for yourself, because its obvious you've been influenced by the nintendo man children of social media.

You should go look up the French version of Mario's voice in the movie it's exactly what it should sound like if that French voice actor speaks English they absolutely have to use him. Loved your reaction by the way

i like it. i think the italian accent would've sounded annoying for a whole movie. i appreciate the cadence pratt applied. that first line sounds weird though. when he says the second one it works much better. i don't find it weird at all
I'm surprised by how excited I am for this movie. I think I heavily underestimated Illumination, it looks like they put a lot of effort into making the details of the Mario world really accurate. Also I love the tiktok you added at the end, good stuff LOL
kinda disappointed by the voices, why didnt they get the original voices they use in the game too?
