I’m too broke to get a ps5. But I will tell everyone I will wait until it comes to pc 🤣
Thank you, I finally get a straight answer wheter I should play it on ps4.
Yeah, really enjoying this one so far. I was dead set that Elden Ring would be game of the year, and don't get me wrong, I actually love the vague style of storytelling in FromSoft's games. But Ragnarok sticks almost every landing in its writing department, bolstered by the stories of the older games, whereas Elden Ring feels a little weaker to me than previous entries in its series. The one thing I will say is that I don't think Ragnarok's writing is perfect; I think it's a little more lowbrow in some places than it should be (mainly, I'm a little iffy on some of the characterizations and their varying tones; some characters feel a little overly modern, and I think it's kind of jarring. Also, I'm not really impressed with how they handled Odin so far. He came off as cheesy to me), but for the most part it's excellent work.
In terms of gameplay, God of War continues to be an engaging and unique experience. I do prefer FromSoft's combat, but Elden Ring had some serious balancing issues early on, and I prefer well designed linear maps to open world gameplay personally, so I'm personally having a little more fun with God of War (though I did like the legacy dungeons in Elden Ring).
Overall, I think Ragnarok is the slightly more polished offering.
Great review! Sorry I started rambling about my picks for GOTY.
Great review, however, what was the bit at the beginning about the most hated character you spoke to? This Kratos although healing and different with age from his pain, is still the same man from the previous titles. I was just curious to hear more on this. Wanted to mention how Kratos has way more dialogue in this and opens up about his history which are excellent nods to his past; which is fantastic to experience.
