My small dog aced high five and gimme 10 with ease. however, since I’m nowhere near as smart as he is, it took me probably 6 to 8 months before I understood the reason that he obnoxiously ran around and then jumped up and whacked me in the thigh, with both front paws every time I started dishing up his food was because he associated that trick with food so caveat emptor on that one😂 a more recent more useful trick is sit – wait – zip (meaning, no barking.), while I’m preparing dinner.👍
Taught my dog to close door…but I sometimes have an object that holds it open. During the process he just knew to move the object before closing the door…taught him mano(hand). With that he knows to use hands at the right time, like when you wanna shake u say mano, or learning to press buttons I'll say mano or get on counters but not jump on them ill say mano. Mano does it all…

The teaching the dog how to open doors can be very destructive since they can rip door handles off if they want to get into a room when you are out or if they aren't allowed into that room. My puppy started scratching to get in then decided to start using her mouth to pull the handle down and bring it back and entering the room to cause destruction lol
Opening and closing doors is something I would not personally teach my dog. Cause one wrong move and they are gone or a can falls on them.
