Morrowind aged so bad, I can't play this lmao
3:05 that explain why Prince of Persia 3d always remembers me to morrowind.
the entire problem with combat is the lack of a miss animation to give you proper visual feedback. turning on always use best attack just makes the combat more shallow and boring.
Playing this on 2024 🤝
Back in the early days, I downloaded a mod to "improve" the cliff racers, but all it did was make them shoot fireballs while waiting for them to descend. My friend I and still laugh about it now.
I just found out that there is an Android port of Morrowind which came preinstalled on my Retroid Pocket 4. Playing this game on a handheld is kinda surreal, I mean, there are more advanced Android games out there (Alien Isolation anyone..?) but Morrorind is just something I always dreamed about to play on my PSP. Now I kinda can…
My favorite game of all time. I'm currently playing it with Tamriel Rebuilt using OpenMW and it's like rediscovering the game all over again. Morrowind doesn't need a remaster, the fans have already made one.
I picked this game up for Xbox in 2004 on a whim. Never heard of the series. I was only 14 years old. Never played a RPG as big as elder scrolls. It was like $20 for a used copy of the GOTY edition and the box art drew me in. I didn’t know what I was doing in the game. I just ran around. Talked to NPCs. Discovered those giant bugs and was blown away by the game. I’ve been a fan of the series since. Never ended up completing Morrowind but I should go back. I have it on my series x. I have gotten 100% on oblivion and Skyrim though
lemmie tell you playing oblivion or skyrim after morrowind feels stale it doesn't fill that gap
so play skyrim and oblivion before morrowind otherwise the games will get ruined for you like me
Good to hear that the combat doesn't stay awful through the whole game. I have tried to play this game multiple times before, and despite the rich atmosphere and world, I just can't get over the combat.
The dated ui and other annoyances don't help either. I could easily live with those, but combined with the bad combat (no offense to purists out there) it just leaves a sour taste in my mouth.
Will boot it up once more when I am in the mood though.
Skywind is an interesting idea, but it's fan made and despite being in development for over a decade, it's yet to be finished. Now, in 2024, it's rare to hear anything about it, although it's supposedly still being worked on
Goddamn, I remember when I played it first. It was about half a year into the covid pandemic. I have never played any Elder Scrolls game other than Skyrim up to that point and I decided it is time to play all of those 3D ES. And I fell in love with Morrowind. I loved the freedom and fact, that game is not holding my hand and showing me what to do. I was just dropped in large, living world and had to go on by myself. At the beginning it was tough, but I slowly get used to all crucial mechanics. I started as a Redguard bruiser, but with time I became not only a brave warrior, but also a deadly marksman and powerful wizard at the same time. I completed all the quests and even explored every possible place. On Steam I have 325.3 hours on record in Morrowind. The only real problem for me was a fact, that quests and items tends to bug in this game. But it was nothing that couldn't be fixed with internet and command console.
3:41 He “uh”ed it!!!
That collector's edition is beautiful
Fuck this game. I love this game.
awesome video!
Among many other things. Wish kept better track of those maps over the years.
LGR is my favorite nerd on YouTube. He reminds me of my cousin who lives in Texas
whos here in 2024
2024 … I think it is the best ES
After playing Oblivion i went and got Morrowind, and at fisrt it was too confusing but with time, about a month, i understood enough to get by. Its a great game but man it can kick you butt easily if your not careful 😅
Damn it! I had the map, the construction set, the works! But it was lost to time. I'm so ashamed that I let that happen. 😞
I played it on my Original XBox then moved to PC format as well. I've been a Fan of the franchise since it first came out
Ah, I'm so glad you mentioned the cliff racers. Fuck those birds!
Glad im not the only person who hated the cliff racers
Huh… I'm definitely not in Europe, and I definitely had the fold-out case, I remember it very well.
Oh my god the title theme for morrowind is the same song as skyrim (dovahkiin) seriously listen to the notes of that and then listen to dovahkiin
Love open mw. These days the controller support works even better than it did on xbox so its a pleasure to plop down a couch and play all night like its 2003
I remember moving in to the Balmora house with the dead guy in it and filling the tables and floors with weapons and stuff, jewels filling all the bowls, barrels stuffed with potions and ingredients, books painstakingly stacked on the shelves, bug lamps lighting everything up and every one of those little red statue I found was locked away safely in the room with the servant.
skyrim was a step backwards in most ways other than combat and graphics I wished it was more like morrowind
These hyper detailed video game boxes are a thing of the past. Beautiful.
Idk looks like shit
