If you are looking for more information we have a lot more for you! We cover the come command in depth on multiple episodes of our podcast. Here is a link to it on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/0u4lIDhvmK17EBbp7VfXZ5
We also have more videos on the come command showing slightly different techniques. Some are with dogs that have been treat trained and others are with dogs that work solely for praise. Each dog is different and their training needs to be different. Let us know if you have trouble finding one that works for your dog!
Amazing video very helpful !!
I have to use hand signals with my dog as he's gone deaf but it works.
Yeah this doesn’t work with a high prey drive hunting dog, that you never see YouTube trainers do. It’s always the easy wussy dogs, not the high prey drive or dog aggressive breeds. Talk to me when you have a husky or causian shepherd.
best advice: buy a lab 😅 Super food-motivated, enthusiastic, and total velcro dog when well-exercised. My pup had lots of free-running, leash walking, and various commands all taught with kibble and love by 6 months but never heard "Millie, come" till I added the long line and hot dogs to teach the formal " run to me and sit close". She learned quickly 😋
Female distractions and prey drive, plaguing mankind since the dawn of civilization….
"He learns that come us a fun thing to do" .. im trying to be professional but that one broke me 😂😂😂 very educational video but that one caught me off guard
I'm glad that they have videos like this!! I have a Boston Terrier pup he's 10 months old and he gets the zoomies when I walk him and I've actually fallen because of Taz! He goes to people all the time it's very frustrating!! I don't know what to do!!🫣
Great video, will give your advise a try!
Maybe if your dog doesn’t come it doesn’t like you lol
Wallen: Why is my dude talking to the sky?
What to do if your dog sees swallows and then goes into some crazy zone of chasing these things she will never catch. It’s like the tiniest primal part of her brain is the only thing working. When she does this she has no recall at all!!!!! Zero! But when she is not in this state she is fine with recall. The problem is I can’t let her off lead at the dog park unless I have up to two hours up my sleeve incase she sees these swallows. She will run and run and run and run and run until she feels done. Then she comes up to me with a panting grin wondering what my problem is. I have the loudest and best finger whistle which is a total waste as she doesn’t ever register when in bird zone.
The problem is the breed, IMO. That dog you have looks like a Labradoodle, I have a Mini. In my experience with dogs, I had a German Shepherd and after he passed, a Rottweiler. Both of those boys, males, of course, off leash would come when called, without being trained. On the other hand, this Mini I've had for the past 3 years has no such sense of where he thinks he is on the who owns who scale. The only thing going for him to my favor is that he is a superb watch dog, barking vigorously at sounds coming from outside, forewarning me. My Rottweiler just protected me without being trained.
I’m not getting it, too many words. ADHD I guess
If I run away, it instantly calls my dog to chase. If I sit down, she runs over to get petted.
Many dog owners are the problem.
They're clueless
what a lot of people dont understand is at the end of the day everyones dog is different and that you dont have their dog and they dont have yours.
What is the big deal to unleash a pet? Its illegal whete I live, and for good reason. I think its an ego thing to control a pet
Great video
1:13 Did you see the Pterodactyl shadow go flying by?
My dog use to come every time, but has stopped being automatic every time.
Lately she fails to come when called every time.
Don't let #PoppyAdventureDog see this, or I'll never get her in from the garden barking!
What about my dog who is not motivated by food or a ball?
Yes, but how do you do this with a Corgi??? lol
Good job. That dogs excellent.
Thanks for this, our dog 100% plays the game. But, it’s our fault as we haven’t trained all of this
People think negativity is bad in dog training? "NO, BAD!" They don't speak English you could say Blurp, Gack! They don't care. There is no positivity or negativity in animals, they just are. Try that with animals that can kill you and you'll end up hurt. If I get kicked at by a horse you better believe that won't happen again for a while.
I'll be less gentle doing my chore of grooming and shoding. I will get the job done and leave. Horse gets a small alphalpha hay well after I am done and packed up and leaving. Horse learned that I can groom him or WE can work together. Horse gets oats when I come and and a little hay during breaks between feet.
Point No 1 & 2 Great! But No 3 Not clear to me how to act when "they think it is a game"! How to catch them? How to correct them? Can you help clarify please?
Hey hopefully this is really a channel unlike the big ones who never teach anything ,but to get you to go to another website while using a trained dog on their channels..
The one thing that all YouTube trainers don't address is when you try the come, come, sit and the dog lies down only to be dragged. I'm going back to the way I trained my red heeler in the 1990's.
Teach the dog to pay attention to you. When the dog stops looking for your direction, walk briskly in the other direction for the correction. Once you get the dog conditioned to look at you for every command at all times(NO TREATS). Then you can use the YouTube training tips.
