I know you posted this video almost a decade ago. I just came across your videos, I watched another one yesterday for the first time, it's been many years since I've had an 8 week old puppy and wanted a refresh on how to successfully train your pup. I'm actually deeply relieved I found your videos. My last puppy I trained her on my own and she was a magnificent puppy but I've been struggling a bit with my new puppy, granted I adopted her from the shelter 4 days ago but I wanted to get a jump start on training. I do see that a lot of the dogs you work with are quite older than my pup, but do you have any videos or any tips for training a puppy this young. I'm not sure if breed matters but she mixed with Red Nose American Pitbull Terrier and German Shorthaired Pointer which both are extremely intelligent, energetic, friendly dogs and I've spoken with other people who had/have the same mix as my pup (Nova) and they all said that they are/were the most uniquely, intelligent dogs they ever owned. I found blogs and books online people were selling about training "pitbulls" and that there's a different way to train them though I never had any issues with my Blue Nose when I trained her as a puppy but she could have just been an exception? Have you heard anything about this? That this particular breed of dog has to "be trained in a particular way"? If you have any tips please let me know. I'm struggling a bit with Nova, of course as an 8wk old puppy she has an abundance of energy and is extremely/easily distracted by everything, but she does make good eye contact with me.
