Puppy jumping and nipping solutions

I have yet to see a dog trainer with an active puppy.

I love informational learning videos but I’d like to say .. my lab .. never jumped and never bit . Never .. it’s just not who he is . And man did I get lucky

What do you do when your lab is so smart with training he does it everytime with treats but then you take the treats away and he no longer listens hahahah. He is stubborn and doesn't listen unless you have food. He catches on quick with food but without he acts up.

This dog is very calm and well behaved. I need to see real jumping and biting. My puppy is 12 weeks old and is bites ALL the time. And it gets worse when I tell her no. She doesn’t like to be told no and goes nuts. Help!

I got a 4 month old Shichon – she jumps and nips. I'm covered in bites . She is really out of control.😢

now what if you throw a toy and the puppy doesn't bring it to you, but takes it away. And I am talking about retriever Labrador, but for some reason she doesn't bring it to me. She always runs and almost jumps at the toy, but rarely brings it to me, always takes it somewhere to her hide..

My natural behavior with dogs aligns with your training. Yet, I've spent most my life listening to others tell me to just let them be. People who have dogs who behave poorly or no dogs at all have a lot to say about training.

It tears your clothes when they jump and bite. Grrrr!!!

This doesn't work for my aussie pup. She jumps on my 6 year old, and my daughter naturally does what you suggested; but the pup will start biting her hair when she turns around.

This pup was waaaay too sweet to demonstrate bad behavior.

what about when walking on a leash in public and they do this? i have a 3 month old cane corso/lab/husky mix and he jumps and tears at my coat and arms during the walk sometimes. i try turning but then he just chews his leash 🙁

Good job, Joel!!!. very specific and it worked well. how about showing it with a more hyper breed type? would it take the same amount of time if done properly, consistently? I think so! your instructions were quite clear.
I have a problem with folks who meet my dog and encourage the excitement , usually some big guy, and have no idea about correcting the jumping.
(I try to head them off ahead of time, but sometimes have to resort to "OFF" and a pull if I'm too late or the person laughs and wants to play and grab, , when my dog is off leash….not the ideal situation) I try to keep away from folks like that, BUT it has happened

Yeah, I turn my back and he just jumps on my backside even pulling my shorts down. Unfortunately, this dog is too well-behaved.

Have a three month old giant breed, hope this works. Thank you. Update, didn't work well, I turned, he ran up nipping me in the back and side of my legs! I yelled no, he barked and lunged at me again! Had to grab him by the collar without being bit, and pick him up and get a leash on him and walk him around and he settled down. Wow it was rather unnerving.
