I recently acquired an outdoor cat that uses the area of my gravel driveway around where I park as his litter box. There is lots of surrounding woods that he could use. I have tried spraying the area with CatMace but it doesn't work. Would you know anything stronger I could use that might work?
hey Albert! i have a question. my cat is a little hard of seeing so she gets confused whenever i try to teach her the command "no". she can't really see the food, but she can smell it. this means she looks around for it whether or not its even there because the food leaves a smell on my hands. this also means that she doesnt really know that im the one taking the food away because she thinks that she just cant see it and needs to keep using her nose to find it. while this is true, I was able to teach her how to get off surfaces. she gets down every time i tell her to get down without fail, but she still keeps hopping up. is there any other way i can teach her no or maybe to stop getting up on surfaces? should i just skip to the third step?
Could this potentially backfire and make them seek out bad behaviors in your presence in order to be rewarded?
I am having a nightmare with my cat he is almost 3 and he climbs up on everything we can’t leave out any food
My other cat is 17 and he never ever did this
I’m so stressed I actually feel like we may have to give him up 😢
So my cat just gives up and walks away, what do I do with that, lol!?!?
My kitten doesn't care to follow for dry treats, and goes completely crazy over wet treats. Do you have any suggestions in how to adjust this training, using a wet treat instead?
My cat meows non stop before feeding. Do you have a video to stop that?
The video really starts at 3:33
Hi love your videos I have a cat name Jasper since he was 3 months old but after 6 months he started eating parts of his toys fabric . Than he was eating parts of the dish sponge pieces I had to throw out all the toys that were made of fabric . After a couple of weeks he couldn’t eat or drink he would vomit. I took him the the ER did an ultrasound they saw a Foreign object they put an IV Fluids to to see if it rushes down and it did . It was a size of a Grape which he pass it through his Bowel movement . But even though he is now 1 yrs old and 3 months he still eat Material even ate parts of his cat tree. I had to put away many items in my home. I found out in the internet that some cats have pica . He is a good cat he just has this problem I do play with him . What u recommend I can do . My cat gets Anxiety separation when I have to leave to work he goes crazy Meowing .
Our 2 kittens always jump on the table when we eat. So we learned them the word "off" and point to the floor. When they are on the floor we give them a treat.
It works really good but they keep jumping on the table again. So I think I'm teaching them that jumping on table is getting rewarded somehow.
Any idea what I can change?
Okay, but what if my cat starts to do something bad JUST because he knows that I'll give him a treat? Seems like he's still the one who does what he wants…
I have 2 cats, but one is very food driven. After I put the food in the dish, I walk to where I'm going to put the dish down and he runs under my feet and I've near fallen a number of times. I'm in my 60s and have serious health issues and I'm scared I'm going to have a serious fall. How can I try to curb this behaviour?
Mine knows the word No/Bed time/Food he’s 5 months and this morning he has ripped my net curtains 😢
3 mins into this video and you are still repeating over and over the same thing. To replace a No with something that is an Yes.. ok I get it! ..and now a shout out to your supporters.
Because i wrote this comment, I decided to watch a bit more of the video and it is actually quite good. I think you would have had more views if you structured your timeline better.
my cat is 4 months old can i teach her or wait for her to become a little older
Albert your videos make it so much easier for my cat to learn tricks you have really helped for a long time but l got another kitten and he keeps on biting do you have any tips on it 😅
Do you have any advice for a cat who flings the dirt out of her box…… Like almost all of it 😅
really good! working on my 4 kittens already they are 10 weeks old
you really need to record in a different room. The room you are using is causing your words to echo all over the place. Hard to understand. 1:07
Mia is too slick for that 😂 4:24
What should I do if my cat can not keep staying around me? Everytime I'm trying to teach her 'no', she just go away🥲
Thank you for your videos. Your cat Mia 🐈 is a beautiful breed.
Thank you!!
She keeps scratching my hand and bites me when i cover it lol
I don't agree with those trainers who say to ignore negative behavior. Place a hidden camera in their house and I'm sure they don't practice what they preach. No is a simple word and I have used a stern no with my kitten and she will now bite everyone in the house except me. I will continue to use the word no. The rest of the family started saying no this week. I guess we used it as a little experiment to see how kitty will respond to both methods of communication. Ignoring behavior vs a stern no. Now If I can get her to learn cool tricks and sit on my shoulder too would be great. Just found your channel last night.we've had kitty for 3 weeks now. btw kitty sleeps on my chest or lap so she's not afraid of me. I love this video on training with no so that I can use it more broadly. I will try this.
This guy sure knows how to waffle… skip to 3:30
