Also, the headphones get plenty loud even direct through a Ps5 controller 🥳
Compared to other closed backs, how are the 700s? I main the TYGRs but am looking for a closed back option as well.
Just got the 900 pro x, and i absolutely love these headphones.
do you recommend DT900 pro X over Sennheiser 650?
Hi Fresh!
Hope you're doing good.
I have a conundrum regarding the following headphones for which I think you are well suited to advise me.
My choices have come down to the DT 900 Pro X, HD 490 Pro, and the DT 1990 Pro. If I went with the DT 1990 Pro, I'll have to use it with its stock pads, so no third-party pads.
I don't have access to any of them for a trial, and I think I can count on your experience with them.
I'd be listening to music primarily. Gaming and other media consumption would be secondary.
I hear people say that the DT900 Pro X is 80 percent of the DT 1990 Pro's sound quality. And, that alleged closeness in sound quality between the two has put me in a difficult situation so as to justify their price difference.
Hey @FreshReviews, love your reviews. Which of these three options would you recommend would pair well with the Topping DX 3 Pro +? I mistenly bought the DT990 Pro's and don't want to make the same mistake twice. Even with the DX3 Pro + they sound a bit quiet, and my main use is gaming. Thanks!!
After all this years do you still prefer the 900 pro x over the HD 560s? 🤔
The 900 together with the new USB-C cable makes a great PC gaming headset, especially because the mic is pretty good.
Did you EQ the sound in any way? Cheers
Have the Beyerdnamic Custom Studio 80ohm . I hope the 900 pro is better . I think buy the 900 pro x . M headphone is 6 years old .
Just to check is the DT 900 Pro X still your top pick? And if so what amp do you use with it? Also do you use a modmic or anything with it? Sorry for lots of questions haha loving the videos
Can anyone tell me how open headset is better than closed ones i just cant understand doesnt it leek sound outside of the headset???? Like if im in same room with someone is the other person hearing my in game sound and all the talking happening in discord???
would you pick the 900 pro x over tygr 300r or upgrade from the tygr to them?
dt 900 pro x or hd560 for cs2?
Which of these do you prefer for music listening? I too have the Elegia but was disappointed with their bass
I just bought the HD560s based on the strength of your reviews this past week, but I find it uncomfortable on my hears (not blaming you of course) but I may just return them and try out the 990X. Yes it's 70 cdn more but I hope it will be more comfortable and based on you and other gaming focused audiophile reviewers it seems like it will be a one and done headphone purchase for any budding audiophile fps gamer. (with a Zen dac air in my case)
Good afternoon. Would you be able to review the headphones on the Cs2? I learned that Cs2 changed the game's sound system. Thanks ?
What keyboard is thaaaaat??!
I can't decide between these two headphones. Purposes of use: listening to music (mainly hip-hop) and gaming. It bothers me that if I take the 900 pro x, I will be deprived of the feeling of bass (in all the previous headphones that I used, the bass was felt by vibration in my ears), also I have never used open back headphones and I do not know how big the sound leakage is (I have my own room, but I would not like to, so that someone outside the door can hear what I'm listening to), as well as whether my PC fans will interfere with me. What bothers me if I choose the 700 pro x is that I will lose the vaunted positioning of open headphones for gaming
I purchased a tygr 300 after watching these vids but gave it to my boy.
I did once have a dt1990 but was too high in the treble so sold it.
I now have a dt900 pro and all i can say is seriously change the pads to the fenestrated sheepskin.
Before i tear my original pads apart for the rings inside i just placed them where they sit to try them. Bigger soundstage and still sound amazing with music. Bass is slightly more in volume but due to the 900 pro having such linear bass this isnt a problem but the clarity is better and can judge distance even better than the velour pads which shocked me as on the tiger the imaging/distance was negatively affected.
You have the pads just place them against the headphones to hear the difference.
Hey fresh, love your reviews. Would you still recommend these for under 250 price tag?
Upgrading from astro a50s to some beyerdynamics. I ordered the 900's before watching this video and got very anxious about my purchase before this video, but you calmed it down lmao
do less sound leak into the 900 pro x compared to other opens? I need to return my 560S because they are a little too open given the AC/fans in my house (but I realllyyyy like them 🙁 ) and am considering these if they are a middle ground…
I am curious, if the dt 900 pro x are s-tier, then why don’t more pros use these? Is it because they are open back, sponsorship related or something else? I feel like the market is flooded with gaming headphones
Thanks for the review
Hey Fresh, thanks for your quality reviews I know the community really appreciates them! I would like some advice if that’s okay? I’m coming from a 990 pro plugged into my GOXLR and am tossing up between this and the Sennheiser 490 pros, how much of an upgrade for competitive gaming is the 490s over a 900 pro x? If I went the 490 pro route I would need to pick up a dac and amp combo which would obviously add more the final cost.
So for valorant competitive, would you rather hd560s, dt900prox, or dt1990 pro?
Hey people, question. From dualsense ps5 sound better will be 990 32 ohm or 900 48 ohm?
A big hello from France,
I really appreciated your videos which are the first that I have watched which make a real comparison of imagery and sound scene between reputable hi-fi headphones.
Like you, I'm a fan of headsets for competitive games, but I'm more into Rainbow 6.
On the other hand, I will soon receive the MMX 300, what do you think?
And I also have the Hyperx Orbit s and the Hifiman Sundara among others.
Do you have a sound stage preference on these headphones?
Thanking you.
I myself am debating between the 560s / HD 490 / DT 900 Pro X or maybe the DT 1990. The latter mostly because I got a Topping DX3 pro+. Do you think your ranking would change when paired with a decent amp or will the DT 900 still be your overall winner?
Also maybe a decent idea for a future video: Get a HD 558 second hand. I myself am considering upgrading from that. And from what I can tell many people are in the same boat. I've actually seen some recent videos / comments recommending getting them as an absolutely bang for buck option, also since they were so populair there are a lot of them on the 2nd hand market.
in germany, the dt 900 pro x are only 240 EUR with Tax, because these headphones are made in germany
Just came across this vid. You still recommend these or anything better around same price range? I’m shootin for open back. Also do you need an amp for these ? Appreciate it
Will my PodMic pick up the sound leakage of these?
i have a few collection on headphones, r70x, Hifiman anada nano which i love. would you say the DT 900 PRO are worth getting over the DT 880 PRO which i also have
hey man sorry im late to the party, i bought these cans based on your opinion and review and hoping it'll be the best bang for my bucks, and it might arrived in a few days along with the topping dx3 pro+. do you tweaks your eq on these ? if you do can i have the config too ? thanks man.
really enjoying your contents, subbed.
I just try both the 1990 and 900 pro x the past 2 days back to back for rainbow six siege I had a better time with the 1990s over the 900 pro x both stock and with a eq. For me the imaging clarity and soundstage was better on the 1990s the 900 pros were close to it but seemed inconsistant at time with footsteps but if you dont have or want to spend 500-600 for a headphones the 900 pros are amazing id say 80% maybe even 90% of what the 1990s sound like. (I found a pair of 1990s for 380 refurb on amazon only reason why I try them out)
