Wow!
You are genius!!
1:34 that looks identical to my dog. We just got him and we think he's half German shepherd and we don't know lol. Maybe Dotson .omg just like him . My neighbors dog has been barking for 2 hours straight. Its never left alone plus they left their windows open so he can bark right toward our house. We live in a mobile home park so our walls are thin anyway 😆. Im excited to see another dog that looks so much like our new doggie.
How to do this at 5am after puppy goes to the bathroom outside then has to get put back into crate for another hour? Thats when the barking persists and giving a loud quiet could wake up family still asleep (ironically they never hear him barking though)
REALLY APPRECIATE the response to such an old video!!!!
👍🏼
You nailed it. No BS, simple advice that works.
So this is September 2024 I have a miniature schnauzer that growls when he goes to meet somebody or another dog and when I lay her down, make her lay down or even roll her over in the submission she still putting out growl even popped around the nose
Do you have any other suggestions? People are more afraid of a dog that growls them barks and as soon as they meet her, she’s friendly.
Thank you! Everyone is so worried about hurting their dogs feelings. I cannot stand unnecessary barking….especially when I am living in a townhouse. You can't allow your dogs to become a pain in the butt to your neighborhood. My neighbors 2 dogs hit the side of the privacy fence and bark at my little guy and me. A lot of times it scares him so he runs back inside. My dog never barks….it is so miserable to live this way.
Great video. How do i train mu 6 month old puppy to stop barking inside of the crate when I am away from home n work?
Dogs aren’t humans
We need to teach them we are the pack leader
He doesn’t bark door bell just slight noises outside
It’s 115 here in Texas
I understand my 12mo old Brittany is bored.
Were playing inside
I’ve tried being nice
Choke collar tug “No”
Isn’t working
Allow the dog to keep barking outside the door?
Im in my 80's. All the other dogs I've had in my life have been trained like kids. Behave well, be rewarded and comfortable. Behave badly, get uncomfortable consequences. It wasn't hard. Just watch them, love them, and act accordingly.
But now – got a puppy from the shelter and there's all this advice about never using the word no. Use tons of treats to provoke good behavior, etc. Puppy class trainer showed us how to lead puppy around with peanut butter on a big spoon and give multiple treats. The puppy is very smart, very quick, very feisty so she plays on the treat thing for all she's worth and i end up struggling, struggling with her. And yes, i was doing it "right."
Then i see a British training video where guy teaches to act totally in charge, say no when needed and yes, reward good behavior with treats occasionally and praising voice. Puppy immediately responds and feels as if finally we are actually going for a walk. Of course, never scream your puppy's name in panic or anger. Stay calm, be in charge, sound in charge, repeat as often as necessary and as long as necessary. Back to common sense. Yay!
How do I make this work with a 72lb Bernese who's barking downstairs when me or my daughter are upstairs. a trainer that worked with us said this is mainly an exercise issue & she's doing this for attention. Well, no kidding she wants attention, but the barking is maddening. she can't expect us to be in her presence 24/7.
I have a cat the yelps LOUD to let me in the back of the house where my rooms at he always wants in my room loves his dad BUT dad doesnt want visitors all the time so dad hits the door he's on the other side of with his hand and says quiet, and he usually stops sometimes it has to be violently loud LOL to work but it always works.
This really works! Super simple and works quickly!
Rather long winded but excellent.
Thanks so much for the negative training video. IT WORKED!!! I don't know if you you would advocate this for separation anxiety, but I did try this for separation anxiety. After your loud noise technique, AFTER the third day in a row(of negative training), on day four there was no need to knock on the door. My dog was perfectly quiet. Then on day 1 I left my dog for 1 hour, day two I left for 2 hrs , day 3 I left for 3 hours and you guessed it on day 4 my dog went up to 4 hours quiet. I rarely stay away for more that 4 hours, but I do have a neighbor who will take him out and feed him. Also, I leave him plenty of treats. I forgot to mention I do have a camera, so I could watch him ( walk across the table!!!!! HaHaHa) I learned how to stop that by pushing the chairs close to the table. I love my adopted dog. Thank you again!
Seriously wtf this method, i have a pup for 6 months tried everything. In the bench she is always barking. Now i did this it only took 5 mins now i do her in the bench and she is not barking. Thank you so much😊
Our dog barks at every single vehicle that goes in front of our house and barks at any outside noise she hears. She is a very sweet female lab retriever. We adopted her five years ago. Totally inside dog.
Thanks so much
Well demonstrated. This makes sense .
Can I smack my neighbor's door when they let their dog bark constantly in their yard? Can I smack my neighbor?
Holy fu*k I could not believe it. Tried it once on my 11-week puppy and it worked the first time! It's like magic. I went comfort him after 30 seconds of silence and he has settled and slept alone in his crate. Thank you so much for this wonderful video!!!!!
Yeah, my dogs they know they don’t bark they stay very quiet till I let them out. I just have problems with them barking outside at every little thing and that gets on my nerves, so I’m slapping the newspaper on my hand or near them to shut them up when somebody comes up for delivery, I’m glad they let me know, but my dog don’t know when to shut up when their people come up in the yard
My dogs know they gotta stay in their room until I tell them they can come out and they know I come get them out in the morning to run outside and play and that’s where they need to be. They don’t need to be locked up too long either that’s not good.
I love my dogs, but I do not want them barking constantly. When they go outside they bark if somebody comes by or if they see somebody but too much barking. Oh no, I don’t like it.
Yeah, barking too much is not good. It gets on your nerves.
Our dog barks at everything outside the house
I have a five month year old puppy with a lot of screeching from his playpen mostly for attention I’m imagining or for not being able to see me directly in another room.
How do I handle that? You are the first Trainer I am following.😊
But what if it's in the yard? My dog is in a large dog run and I want to be in different parts of the property doing work.
4:37 "Dont smack the door"
What if they're in their crate while we're cooking or putting a baby to sleep? Same concept but we can't let them out that's the issue
can't hear you talking.
The best dog trainer ive come across. Thanks!!!!!!
Our 1 year old will bark at 3 or 4am then my mam ends up literally screaming at him. She's even threatening to get rid of him
But what if they're barking when someone comes in, also smack something? Like if there's no crate or door to smack?
How would you stop the barking that is excitement? Everytime we come in the house or even come in or out of a room my daughters three pomeranians won't stop barking. I have tried long walks , bark collars, yelling, shaking a bottle for loud noise . Nothing works. It's like they think it's a game soooo excited.
Hey Beck, I'm in Oz, i have a 2 year old working line German Shepherd, she is so smart and bold. We 6:40 6:40 go up the creek every second day, so she gets lots of car drives and trips up the creek. Okay the problem is she barks out of excitement, in the car, and acts like such an idiot on the way to the creek, at the very least it's a safety Hazzard and IV tryed everything EXCEPT a shockcollar, which I am reluctant to use. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, IV already been employing your methods most of my life and I live and breathe my dog, any ideas😂
Watching this for my malinois that looks just like Ruby lol😂🎉
What about when we can't respond, like if we're gone or working at home??? Our dog loves crazy noise so banging on thisng doesn't work. He's able to do quiet but if too long, he starts again.
