I like this method and typically try to do it, however my 6 month old pup is getting so strong he almost tears my groin lol

My puppy is very smart but also insanely high energy. So far, i have successfully trained her to do the place command, sit, roll over, down, play dead, shake, and stay. Her main problems are playing to rough and jumping on people/counters. I managed to do all of my training off leash because as soon as she sees her leash she gets way to excited and I have not found a way to train her on leash. I hope i havent ruined her with the leash because i take her for a run every morning and night and now she associates running with me when she sees the leash. Any recommendations?

I have another German and they play frantically. I'm outside with them frequently they're inside with me frequently. I worked them. I play with them. I dote on them. I've never had another German Shepherd do this and I've had several.
