Tough😂😂😂? Wow this is a tough game for you? TOTK is way harder then this game and the story mode is ten times this game…I cant believe people give this game such high yeah Im level 38 still fighting level 25…yeah tough game this is…ridiculous😂 go get me this and go get me that open this chest and get a hat…expand your inventory with junk your just gonna sell anyway…run around with a bunch of students you cant interact with and who mysteriously leave the castle at bedtime….kinda sad you all think this game is the IT game for 2024😂
"The spell library is surprisingly vast", "the combat is fantastic", bruh, there are like 5 damage spells, most of which are just "shoot fire" and all the other spells are just slight variations of "stop enemy from moving". Reviews like these made me waste time and money on games like Hogwarts or Final Fantasy 16… When will the bad games with 9/10 reviews stop?
It's a Harry Potter-like game made for Harry Potter fans. The game shows it's worth based upon your previous love of the franchise. If it "bounces off you" then why review it?
4 months late on the comment probably shouldnt even make it 😂. But i just want to say as a lover of harry potter and games…this game is awful. The first 3 hours are good, then you realize its as vast as an ocean with the depth of a puddle. Not only that but its bloated with useless, easy puzzles that are all the same. The loot is awful and pointless for anything other than making money. The characters barring sebastian and ominis are all terribly written. The main story is absolutely atrocious. Theres zero choice or consequence, theres no real options with making your character besides their appearance. And lastly the game as a whole is written like a childrens book, everything is so cheerful and superficially positive and wholesome. Even the first harry potter movie had darker moments and its literally pg rated and acted out by literal children. This is the biggest disappointment since cyberpunk, and it doesnt even hage any of the redeeming qualities that cyberpunk ended up having
I love you for appreciating this game I hear so many complaints about it and I enjoy it so much!
Verdict: not worth it!
This game is the only game Ive ever bought and then sold long before I finished it. It bored me to my core. Loved walking around hogwartz though.
Dude honestly it’s not worth it the fact that there is no quidditch no skipping class no house points system and to add the cherry on top when you try to talk to your friends outside of quests they’re complete robots leading to a lifeless feel in the game
Probably be my next pick up need it at 30 on cdkeys hopefully by October if not might get it anyways would be fun to play in fall time
I actually kind of respect J. K. Rowling, at least one surface level (never digged deep into her), but i am also not really a Harry Potter fan. Films are decent, but i am not really that fascinated with the universe. Like with Elder Scrolls or Star Wars or even Mass Effect for example.
Hardcore LOTR Fan who scoffs at Harry Potter but my gf made me watch all the movies and after playing a few hours I can say as a critical gamer this game is a decent open world rpg…It's well done and above average!
I am the same as you in the sense that I am not a Harry Potter fan. I can only name 5 characters in the movies, I haven't touched the books.
But, I liked the opening of the game very much, sets the tone really well. The rest of the game is no gimmick, no BS, you're the wizard, you attend the school, everything is simple and concise so you can get back to the thick of it.
How can you not be a harry potter fan lol
As someone who has never read any of the books or know little to nothing about Harry Potter would it be a good ideal for me to get this game? I’m very interested in trying it
Never got the flickering face
Preordered, 100% the game. Replay value = 0. Quick blockbuster cash grab.
Im about 4 hours in, very impressed, I havent even watched a Harry Potter Movie or read a book and I like it alot so far.
I'm no Harry Potter fan but I really enjoyed this. It's doing enough differently and well enough to get past my fatigue of open world games. Viewing it objectively and maturely I'd give this a game an easy 8/10, which could have been a 9/10 all day long if only the main story had been a bit more interesting.
I think this will be a good entry point for me with HP. Same reasons as you said. Plus, I've never been a fan of the "groups of kids/teen" stories. Idk why I'm just not.
I just finished this game last night took me 31 hrs with side missions the game is super easy it dosent give u any challenge
we don’t care what u gotta say.
One of my thoughts in the first hour of the game was “hey, this ranrok guy sounds a lot like Brian Virgil from fallout 4.” I really don’t know how I managed to notice that from such a minor character in FO4, because they’re voiced by the same person
I guess I am a Potter head and have played about 6 hours. I am playing with a friend because I am terrible at combat but great at looting and finding hidden things (3,500 plus hours on Fallout 4). This game had mechanics I like from many different games. It kind of has a Dark Souls vibe, then Harry Potters Lego, Accio really feels like telekinesis in Dead Space. I like the feel of the game. The graphics are beautiful and I have not experienced any problems in that area yet. ( on RTX 3080) The game world seems huge, it just goes on forever and I love that. There is a point where you know where every spot in the game is and where every piece of junk is (3,500plus hours on Fallout 4) and it seems like it will take me a very long time to explore and find every thing in this game and that is wonderful. While we haven't progressed very far, I like the story and am eager to talk to all the NPCs and figure out what their backgrounds are as the story and lore are most important.
This is a god tier game
Fair play for giving it ago ty for stepping into our world ur right as a fan this is my jam couldnt agree more
And if this was star wars christ I don't think I'd see my family for a very long time like I'd be in there playing it so long that when I come out it would be considered hard work
Bath run food on the table kids I put to bed before starting the game have now moved out
You know god I would love a star wars game starting as an apprentice development of ur own fighting styles force powers building your light saber
Not the same as kotor I mean as a youngling in corusant or something
What an experience that could be
Mattys, you motivated me to buy the game, and it was good advice, had fun beating it! 😀
Not a huge Potterverse fan, but I enjoyed the game
Yes it is… Delusional man crying over it makes it worth buying twice. I'll be buying the switch version in July!
Matty start watching the movies 👌 That way you'll love it even more 😊
About 17 hours in myself. Lots to like, and better than most recent open world games, and no Bethesda syndrome when exploring. There's an overall shallowness to the open world though, and still had an emptiness to it, so be warned. The veneer wears off quick, as it needs deeper activities, and ways to flush out hogwarts characters. We've been so far removed from God pen world games for so many years though, even with base oversights, then one is refreshing
Visually it looks like a ps3 game.
As a non-HP fan I appreciate this review. I'll wait for the price to drop and give it a try.
Absolutely worth the play!
