The funniest part of BF1, to me, is the tanks. WWI tanks were able to be shot through by a Garand. They didn't require explosives. The steel armor wasn't very… protective.

The "Great Forgotten War", veterans suffered inconceivable PTSD and they did not want to speak of the war. They internalized much of the trauma, which incidentally also was part of the issue of how WW2 started, societies didn't realize how bad it could be. Even today it's hard to imagine such a senseless loss of life with little gain.
